The path ends where the light fades.
The forest stands still, waiting.
“Through the darkness of future past,
the magician longs to see —
one chance out between two worlds.”
Somewhere beyond that glow,
something hums quietly in the dark.

The Highest Dune Hill (89 m a.s.l.). This is a view over the highest elevation in Sierakow Commune and the fire-control observation point ‘Springs / Zdroje’ from the red biking trail area (Lichwin-Blota stretch near the Napoleonic Track in French Mountains - Notecka Forest Massive Dunes). The name ‘French’ derives from Napoleonic Wars and is connected with the heavy artillery movement in the year 1807. The locals had to reinforce a dune path with balks to facilitate the French cannons transporting.

The afternoon sun peaking through the tree on a forest path winding around the McDonald Woods Forest Preserve in Lake County Illinois
Imagine if are great explorers had all succumbs to our modern-day need for a guarantee of absolute and total safety before we do anything that we have not done before?
Thanks again to Tony Murphy who kept me updated on the progress of the bluebells in his favourite little wood near Boyle. I spent a couple of very pleasant hours wandering here. This is just one of quite a few images I made, but it is my favourite.
Following a winding woodland path that disappears into a stand of tall, leafless trees, and looking down on the forest floor found this fallen tree trunk and nature reclaiming the ground it once covered. The soft autumn light and muted colours create a moody, contemplative scene, evoking a sense of quiet solitude and seasonal transition.
A lush, emerald embrace of moss-covered branches in the enchanted Anaga forest, Tenerife. Nature’s artistry thrives in this ancient laurel forest, where time seems to stand still.
Superior Hiking Trail, Minnesota - slightly north of Duluth.
A closer look - upon further inspection, it appeared to be an abode for something, or at least I would like to think that something is or was temporary living under the tent of this leaf.

The path around Haslimoos is often used by horseback riders. They always treat other forest visitors with kindness and consideration. This is probably because not all walkers are used to horses—especially when the animals pass right next to a pedestrian.
