I noticed this amazing glow coming from the forest while cruising along the Applegate River above the lake yesterday. Right below the Cook and Green trailhead in extreme Northern California. It is very difficult and maybe impossible to get in this area from California because of the Red Buttes.

Most of the DarĂź is covered by the woodland of the DarĂź Forest, 5,800 hectares in area. On the northern tip of the DarĂź, at DarĂźer Ort, is a lighthouse of the same name. The National Park exhibition in Wieck a. DarĂź provides information about the geological development as well as the flora and fauna of the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park, as does the Natureum in Wieck a. DarĂź attached to the DarĂźer Ort Lighthouse, as outstations of the German Maritime Museum in Stralsund. DarĂźer Ort is an extended chain of sandbanks running in a northeasterly direction. The entire area around DarĂźer Ort as well as the northwestern part of the DarĂź Forest is part of Protection Zone I of the National Park and may only be visited on marked paths. The rest of the forested region is also part of the National Park.
Took a trip into the Forest Of Dean on Sunday. Autumn is still hanging bravely on in some places it seems.

Light pierces the forest floor near Crabtree Falls just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. A lingering fog began to disappear as i made my way down. It's about a 1.5 mile hike to the bottom.
And I thought the Bristlecone forests in Bryce Canyon looked ill...
About halfway around the Skull Rock Trail, between the second chuckwalla and the noisy family. This one is gonna be hard to map.

Taken last week when it was dry. It's been wet today, there's been about 50mm of rain since I got back late yesterday.

research meeting about a week ago.
This image, like the others of its kind in my photostream, was done entirely in the camera. I like the sort of double exposure effect that I got here, with the streaked trees in the foreground but hints of the branches, leaves, and undergrowth of the forest behind. This was due to the rather short shutter speed (compared to similar photographs), and a very slight delay at the beginning of the shutter opening prior to beginning the intentional camera movement.
