October waved goodby with sunshine and warm tempereratures and we used the perfect weather for an extended hiking tour on the Wittedindsweg, a crest trail on the Wiehengebirge from Porta Westfalica in the East to the Osnabrück area in the West. Before the sun went down we visited the most interesting spots of the Eastern part of the trail.
Please go and look out for this unique picture from one of my contacts, to me it's something that you don't see everyday.

The tall evergreen trees, growing straight searching for light,as the brightness streams in from the edge of the forest.
The pine is the dominant tree of my region present in most forested areas. The plantation has begun for many years and for economic reasons, especially for timber and resin used as raw material for diverse products. The pines are also dangerous, because they drop needle-shaped leaves covering the ground with a "carpet" of leaves (as seen in the photo), which are very flammable and one of the main reasons of fires in the region.
