For this study we placed an object in the foreground to get a correct visualization of where the other objects should be placed within the drawing. This drawing was created with pieces of black charcoal.

The green grass is the foreground, the brown looking grass is the middleground, and the gray of the rocks is the background.

Sept. 11, 2010.

If my Greek history serves me correct, the wall in the foreground is probably from the Byzantine period.

While it is still quite cold around my area and I probably should not have been laying on the ground, I feel this picture demonstrates foreground, middle and back.
