I've been waiting awhile for something interesting to appear in the foreground for this kind of shot to work.

The constant rain and a severe lack of anything new to post had me searching through my archives. A pretty ordinary sunset but I liked the texture of those ripples.

Foreground set played support this evening before Sykur let all the audience dance into the late hours.

Another attempt to get this holly tree. The sun and haze were both working with me, so if I didn't get it, it's my own fault. This is a new shot of this tree.

Just trying something a bit different with DOF. Terrace Falls, Hazelbrook, NSW, Australia

Camargue trip (11). Saltings (foreground) and salt pans at Salin-de-Giraud (Provence-Alpes-Azur: Bouches-du-Rhône) on the Camargue. View to NW over Salin du Mas des Crottes towards the edge of the village of Salin-de-Giraud.

Salting vegetation here is dominated by glassworts including marsh samphire (Salcicornis europaea) formerly cultivated in the Camargue for its concentration of soda in its leaves, and used in soap- and glass-making. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasswort). Water in the salt pan is purple-pink because of purple sulphur-oxidizing bacteria typical of saline lagoons.

the sky , the water , and the chairs are the subjects so you can chose between each foreground

Digging down in Europe is apt to uncover historical stuff, as was done here. A small shop had to surrender it's cozy spot to allow work to begin. Summary: shop is gone. But cool ancient stuff is revealed. Korčula (town and island), Croatia

"Hey" Baghera says, "you know all this about background photos on the screen? That's out of fashion. Now you need a good looking cat in front of the screen, if you want to be modern. Umm... why is mum making so much funny noices???"

"House of Mebeai" in foreground; poss. Moscow State University in background

The Hanalei end of the Powerline Trail is much more lush than the Lihue end. The trail is the dirt road carved out to lay power lines and is open for hunters with 4-wheel drive vehicles, mountain bikes and hikers. It's not maintained as a road and is rutted and steep. But it overlooks Hanalei River Valley and Kalihiwai River Valley...

An exercise in ensuring "foreground interest" was apparent in landscape shots

Foreground at Dubbo Observatory piss week mini golf. Other photo at Rodin's house. It's stupid but it proves that I can do something stupid.

Alaska: Engineer Lake and Hideout Trail (Set 8 of 20)... The weather remained dynamic all day, but we enjoyed dry conditions. This from Seven Lakes Trail near Engineer Lake.

- Went traning Flower Technique

From Botanisk Have, Århus, Denmark

The three peaks in the foreground at left are (from L to R) the Lauberhorn, Tschuggen, and Männlichen. To the left of these, in the background, is the Ars; and its adjacent Sulegg is located behind Tschuggen. Between the Tschuggen and Männlichen, in the far background, is the Thunersee -- with Thun at its distant end (approximately 35km / 20 miles away). Located immediately behind and right of Männlichen is Schynige Platte, and to the right of that are the peaks Oberberghorn, Laucherhorn, Bussalp, Waldspitz, and First.

learn this technique from a tv show in Canada. Long long long ago. There used to be this dude teaching oil painting on TV.

And for some reason he always have these foreground stuff.

How's this?

The sun sets on the last crops left standing, a fallen tree branch lays among them, almost frozen in time.

Friday- After school my parents took me to my brother's uni Warwick where we went to see Grizzly Bear play. It was really nice to see a band like them, so powerful and not really like any other bands i've seen live. Their voices are so beautiful and intense. It was nice to spend time with my bruv too :)

I think Grizzly Bear are pretty amazing, have a listen, put the volume really loud and just close your eyes.
