Looking over the Fore River heading out to sea. Standing on the very edge of the Weymouth (MA) side of the river taking the shot; Quincy's Germantown neighborhood is the seen toward the top left on opposite side of the river. In the distance, the land just visible is the Nantasket Peninsula (a.k.a. the Town of Hull).
Typical narrow Looe street. The building with the clock tower is the 'new' guildhall, built in 1877. Internally, the Guildhall features a spacious drill hall on its ground floor, historically utilized by the 1st Cornwall (Duke of Cornwall’s) Artillery Volunteers for training purposes. Ascending to the first floor reveals the grandeur of the great hall, distinguished by its exquisite stained glass windows crafted by Fouracre and Watson of Stonehouse, Plymouth. This opulent space, measuring 45 feet in length and 20 feet in width, served dual functions as a courtroom and a venue for civic assemblies. It presently serves as a hub for community gatherings and weddings.

PORU finally is underway after some Amtrak traffic had to pass. The crew on duty at 0700, wouldn't depart Portland until 1300 as they needed to do various things in the yard beforehand. While I would have preferred the morning eastbound, I'd have to settle and at least use the morning to clean and pack as my house move now two weeks away seems to be a little more of a priority than shooting trains. Then again, hard work should come with reward, so I took the afternoon off to chase PORU, BFPO and POED, so it all worked out in the end.
This is a composite I put together for Down Under Challenge No. 1007, starting with Kim's challenge image of the Pillar Point Air Force Station, which can be seen in the first comment.
When I saw the dome perched atop the pedestal at the air foce station, I immediately saw a golf ball on a tee, so I reduced the dome to playing size and moved it to our favorite golf course. To you golfers out there, I apologize for making the golf ball in this image a bit bigger than it should be, but the actual ball appears hardly more than a white pimple, so I gave my wife Sammy a big ball to swing at for the purposes of this challenge.
It was such a beautiful evening yesterday, and such a stunning place. I can't believe I have never been there and it is practically on my doorstep!!!
Pictured is the new SA80 A3 Assault Rifle.
The current issue SA80 A2 assault weapon is being upgraded into the A3 spec under the Mid Life Improvement (MLI) project, which will ensure the rifle has the enhancements needed to remain in service until 2025 and beyond.
This multi-million-pound upgrade will give British troops a lighter, more hardwearing, better-camouflaged combat rifle so our personnel can perform on the frontline of some of the most dangerous locations across the world.
The changes to the rifle include a more durable hardwearing coating in a “Flat Dark Earth” colour offering better camouflage in a range of environments.
A weight saving of 100g over the A2, and a more streamlined fore grip making the weapon easier to handle.
The A3 rifle has a bracket to secure new innovative low light sights which can clip on or in front of the day sight without the need to remove it.
These sights are smaller, lighter and require fewer batteries whilst operating just as effectively in low light/night conditions.

"Corta de raíz las cosas malas de tu vida, si no te gusta donde estás, entonces cambia de entorno, si quieres que algo cambie, empieza por talar todo lo que no sea necesario, los problemas son como la maleza, hay que quitarlos del camino para poder ver el sendero correcto."

The temporary Fore River Bridge being dismantled is in evidence here on the Weymouth side as you see the permanent bridge's roadway in the background now connecting Route 3A between Weymouth and Quincy (MA).
