Wage and Ice Bat examined my new food processor that arrived yesterday. They are still in the kitchen talking about how good it fits into my small kitchen and what kind of food they can use it for. I heard "cookies" being mentioned in many variations.
Finally went out and got a food processor. So excited! First up was a roasted tomato soup (which I really could have made in the blender). I went the healthy route though and made it without the grilled cheese topping. sigh. Someday I'll try it the naughty way :)
Garlic salt removed from the processor to be dried to be served on dishes.

Today the presents purchased off our wedding gift list arrived, and this was given to us by my parents, brother and his family. It's something I've wanted for years and am so chuffed that I finally have one!
Although I love my mandoline, I have wanted to buy a food processor for years. My biggest stumbling block has been the fact that I want to keep BPA plastics out of my kitchen as much as possible and it is very difficult to find food processors without polycarbonate bowls.
When I was on Amazon a few weeks ago I did another cursory search, hoping to find one that fit my criteria (why, Cuisinart, why can't you make what I'm looking for?) and this 14-cup behemoth from Breville popped up. Breville is an Australian company (their YouTube videos all sound great with the accents) and when I did a little more research I found that Consumer Reports actually rated this food processor highest in their last round of ratings. It's the Vitamix of food processors -- definitely pricey, but top of the line. And the best part is that I can be happy because the bowl is clearly labeled BPA FREE. Yay!
So far: cucumbers sliced at 4 seconds apiece, and a nice pile of shredded carrots in 10 seconds flat. I'm going to have to go buy some more vegetables this weekend ...
