Students learned about the design principle of visual rhythm, then designed their own patterns, which were applied to a sheet of paper. The paper was then folded and glued into this three-dimensional, geometric form.
It looks great! The wall art is cheap, simple and different. All you need is multi-colored origami paper folded and attached with glue or double sided tape to foam board.
I held a series of three sessions at KPF NY demonstrating severals ways to transform a flat single sheet of paper into a complex form. I demonstrated folds that used both standard origami techniques (square paper, no cutting) and more modern approaches (laser-cut and -scored curves). The square forms date back to the Bauhaus movement and I was inspired by the work I did for Erik and Marty Demaine when choosing the shapes of the curved forms. Special thanks also to Alex Soijka who helped with the video.
jie has been asking. finally i took her to ceha so that sharon could show her how a folding bike works.
Napkin folding class was such a success, that we tried folding napkins on the rest of the ship. In this case, we folded the napkins in the buffet area. The dish bussing crew was quite amused by our work, but we were proud to be able to supply some "class" to the buffet area.

And me and my anger sit folding a paper bird,
Letting the curtains turn to beating wings...
You are a radio. You are an open door.
I am a faulty string of blue christmas lights.
You swim through frequencies. You let that stranger in
As I'm blinking off and on and off again.
We've got a lot of time. Or maybe we don't,
But I'd like to think so, so let me pretend.
These are my favourite chords. I know you like them too.
When I get a new guitar, you can have this one
And sing me a lullaby. Sing me the alphabet.
Sing me a story I haven't heard yet.

The Cult Trike with New Transportability
Good news for trike travelers: With its innovative Quickstick hubs, Hase Bikes has found an ingenious solution for transport problems. The rear wheels of the Kettwiesel can now be easily removed in just a matter of seconds.
The Hase Kettwiesel guarantees fun to the power of three: The nimble cornering machine from the German specialist bicycle manufacturer is always ahead of the pack, be it slalom or offroad. Until now, the only Kettwiesel activity that wasn’t pure thrills was trying to fit the trike into a compact car or a tight space in the garage.
Now Marec Hase, engineer and designer of all Hase bikes and trikes, has found a remedy: Thanks to its “Quickstick” hubs, the Kettwiesel can go from flagship to flounder in a matter of seconds. Just remove the front wheel with the quick-release mechanism, fold down the seat and – pull off the rear wheels.
All you’ll need is a 6mm Allen key: Simply loosen a screw in the center of the hub – easily accessible from the outside – and the whole wheel can be effortlessly removed. After the Kettwiesel has reached its destination, remounting the wheels is just as easy. And the good times roll on …
