Still the fog and the Gray. I overexposed for the overall snow but the scene depicted the gray day as it was.
Cleaning up old files and purging some photos, I ran across this.
Taken in South Dakota in a field behind our hotel. The low lying fog made the sunrise even more special.
I had to take this photo of the fog that we got a couple of weeks back! The air was quite cool but the buildings were warm and the mist was rising from them. It looked so eerie!!!
Feeling the stillness in predawn while watching fog stream engulfing our valley is a blessing experience.
I had plan to drive 1 hour to shoot moonset in San Francisco bay. Before embarking on the journey, the unusual heavy moisture at local caught my attention and changed my plan. So I played with fog and light in my home valley instead. I know this heavy fog could be a rare photography opportunity and can only last before sunrise, so I scrambled all possible locations in mind for a vantage point that could yield a composition I like. Here is a mesmerizing one exuding surreal and tranquil mood in morning light.
Did several pano shots also. Stay tune for much goodness.
Fog is a common weather phenomenon in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as along the entire coastline of California extending south to the northwest coast of the Baja California Peninsula. The frequency of fog and low-lying stratus clouds is due to a combination of factors particular to the region that are especially prevalent in the summer. Another type of fog, tule fog, can occur during the winter. There are occasions when both types can occur simultaneously in the Bay Area. The prevalence of fog in the San Francisco Bay Area has decreased, and this trend is typically attributed to climate change.

Thick winter tule fog spreads through a Central Valley orchard.
The primary goal of my visit to the Pacific Flyway on this early-January day was to photograph migratory birds in the tule fog. I regularly check the weather predictions at this time of year, since it is the time of “interesting weather,” and this can make all the difference when it comes to the photographic potential of a location. On the day before I made this photograph, my check revealed a very good chance for dense tule fog — the kind that sane drivers try to avoid but which attracts photographers. So I was up very early, ready to drive through the fog for the chance to photograph it.
Local conditions can vary a great deal on days like this. Out where I was photographing birds the sky was beginning to clear, but I still wanted fog. So I drove a ways in a direction where the sky seemed darker, and before long I was once again engulfed. I had this orchard in mind as drove, and when I got there I took a gravel side-road to a spot where I could see an uninterrupted expanse of tree silhouettes fading into the distant fog where the sun was trying to break through.

All along the Maine coast you can here the sailors calling out "Fog's lifting" signaling another beautiful day for sailing.
Wish you a most happy day:)
Valentia Island (Irish: Dairbhre), also spelled Valencia Island, is one of Ireland's westernmost points, lying off the Iveragh Peninsula in the southwest of County Kerry, Ireland.
A song for Ireland.
Inspired by Pissaro’s painting ‘The Effect of Fog’, I took this shot while walking along the Schuykill river in Philadelphia one morning. I first thought this shot would yield a black and white image, but then changed my mind. I used my Nikon D750 and 135 mm Ai f2.8 at f5.6 for capture and Lightroom for processing.
