Fluttering Shearwater, Marlborough Sounds. The bird puts its head underwater to look for fish, then 'submarines' with wings above the water and body below to chase them down.
Tried some butterfly shots today - there were butterflies fluttering all over our flowering lawn and grass cutting was planned for today. So I had to get there first :-)
To windy to get any good shots, the butterflies stayed low and, of course, most of them were gone when I came out camera in hand. But here's a fuzzy little one anyway...
Not the best shot, I know, but I kinda like it anyway... and I got good practice using manual focus.
Used the old Minolta AF ZOOM 80-200 mm lens for these.
Each flutter of the flag is believed to send a prayer up to the heavens. Although I do not recall the flags on the front left was on the way down or just sweeping over me, I do love the dancing flags!
