today i reactivated the creative juices. i had a meeting with a dancer i'm working with for a dance film i've been commissioned to do. we haven't met up in a long time because of everything that has happened. we started brainstorming again for our artist residency which is in the spring. i am really looking forward to it. also i decided i'm going to dedicate the film to my brother.

my brother recently died in an accident. he was only 33 and left behind a wife, a 4-month-old and a three-year old. since i have never experienced the death of someone close to me, it has been devastating to say the least. it feels surreal and it is still hard to believe.
the days are heavy and i can't imagine what the next year is going to be like. i thought joining 365 would help pull me through the day-to-day. on verra...

A delicate butterfly is flying through to see if you can catch her. Her lovely body a vintage Bulova watch face has pretty etchings and a small Swarovski crystal. She is grounded by a silver plated chain.

Backing up and cleaning out my photo library, I found all the pictures of a flock (is that right?) of butterflies I stumbled across a few years ago walking around campus.
I probably uploaded it somewhere before, but here's a little revisit.
View it large for best viewing pleasure.
An older shot of a butterfly...nothing recent! There are no butterflies here this time of the year, haha. Somehow, I had missed editing and uploading this one before. But with a strategic crop and some playing in PS, I think I have a lovely butterfly shot!
Somehow, the enclosed butterfly garden took all the fun out of trying to chase down these beauties.

Prayer flags are everywhere in Nepal. I found these ones in the courtyard at the Pilgrim Guest House in Kathmandu. I love watching them flutter in the breeze.
