Carolina Chickadee - Poecile carolinensis (fledgling)
Several of these emerged from a nest box in suburban Durham NC (USA) on 30 April and 1 May 2021. So far they are avoiding the local cats. This one was calling and fluttering underneath an open window, alerting the photographer.
Photography is my hobby like many other people I have good days and bad days and sometimes an amazing day. I try to post various types of subjects and idea's that interest me and I am aware that I
naturally seem to be better at some styles than others. I look around Flickr and see some amazing
photography often wondering how it was done and envious of some of the locations. Any Help! comments/ tips/ tricks, criticism good or bad is much appreciated.

We have not been seeing many butterflies in our garden over the past couple of years. Albeit, last week, when I didn't have my camera in-hand a beautiful Red Admiral was fluttering about.
Today, it's the turn of the Cabbage White to flutter amongst the dying buddleia!

I got totally distracted yesterday as I was overcome by the sudden urge to make these...
I am finding the new supplies I've splashed out on this spring very inspiring!
I rescued this lovely from a charity shop who was going to throw her out (she was admittedly rather dirty all over and had tangled hair)- after a spa treatment she came up as good as new, the only part missing is her lovely wings...

Butterfly flutter by
And take some of my sorrow
Share with me your carelessness
And take me to tomorrow
Butterfly spread your wings
And fly me to the rainbow
Listen, hear the Sun god sing
'Life ain't such a scare crow'.
Here's just a little silly poem that was stuck in my head when I woke up this morning. Flutter your way through this Thursday. There are only 2 days to go until the weekend. :o)
Oh the joy of opening a rarely used purse and finding a £20 note inside.
Today the We're Here group members are overjoyed to find the Unexpected and Hidden .
If ever one of us opened a birthday or Christmas card and found a note inside, Dad would exclaim 'Flutter, flutter' it became a family thing.

Shot in the summer at the Royal Botanical Gardens. I am fond of the motion throughout this composition. I got in trouble for this one as I had to step on a low Heather bush to get the right angle....they are super hardy however!
Killing me with her sunshine sunshine
She's so unaware that she's my melpomene
You broke the code
Just like i'm sure you always do
Without intentions but I know
That's how I broke away from you
Now that the clouds are obsolete
I hope you landed on your feet
Without those evil demons
Keeping you reminding of...
... Just To Say Hi ...
Butterflies go fluttering by…
On colored wings that catch the eye…
On wings of orange, and silvery blue…
On wings of golden yellow, too…
Butterflies float in the air…
Making their homes most anywhere…
The rainforest, field, and prairie land…
On mountaintops, and desert sand…
If winter brings the cold and snow…
To warmer climates, off they go…
Returning home the following spring…
Beautiful butterflies on the wing….
