There was a large patch of these spectacularly beautiful aquatic plants in one of the ponds in Chester Zoo Nature Reserve.

Despite spending a lot of time angling on many water bodies around the country I've never seen them before.

Some autumn flowering crocuses at Mona Vale, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Taken on an Autumn evening - sky was a bit bright, so I used the filtering/shading effect of the trees to get the light i wanted for this scene.

This was taken last Autumn - I had been keeping an eye out for these with a view to have another crack at them this year, but as with so many other things, between lockdown and injuring myself it simply wasn't possible. So I decided to see if I couldn't make something of last years photos. I guess the lesson for me is sometimes it is best to stop being a perfectionist and run with what you have, because sometimes what you have turns out to be not so bad after all.

From a winter afternoon in the Before Times, December 2019. The hazy afternoon couldn't obscure the beauty of these plants.
