There was a large patch of these spectacularly beautiful aquatic plants in one of the ponds in Chester Zoo Nature Reserve.

Despite spending a lot of time angling on many water bodies around the country I've never seen them before.

I've taken the same photo & adjusted things in Luminar AI...just wondering which you like best and why? Would you mind sharing?

Thanks! 😍🙏🙋‍♀️

Poodle dog bush

This plant is found in the mountainous areas around Los Angeles from 3,300 to 7,500 ft. It thrives in pine forests that have been recently disturbed by fire where it helps to prevent erosion and can cover burned hillsides.. Its seeds can remain dormant inthe soil for long periods, with the plant springing back up quickly at the next disturbance.

Like many species in the forget-me-not family, poodle-dog bush causes severe irritation if touched, akin to poison oak. It can raise blisters lasting as long as several weeks. There may be a delay of several days before the reaction starts. The hairs stick to skin and clothing. Once the immune system has been sensitized to the irritant, later exposure can cause a memory response, in which previously exposed areas erupt even though they were not exposed a second time. Because of this there are warning signs posted in areas where it grows to prevent people from touching it.

Pretty Flowers But Watch For The Thorns

Spring flowers, April 2022

Dogwood flowers are most often used as symbols of rebirth. These flowers are closely connected to Christianity, so that meaning makes sense.

seen on yesterday’s walk - HBW!

Foty blossoms opened yesterday on my pink flowering quince for Super Bowl Sunday. I am so thankful our 23o nights didn't kill the blossoms. Along with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds roaring over our house Sat. & Sun. - and the beautiful weather for visitors - it was a fun weekend.

btw I got roaring videos of what would be the Thunderbirds' last flyover ... my husband was inside watching the game and said ** 3 minutes later ** they passed over the Mercedes-Benz stadium! Which is about 35 miles from us. They also got our chorus frogs in a total roar themselves.
