The Flower Fields is a flower garden found on the Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California. The fields are open to the public once a year in spring from March 1 through May 10.

Spring-like weather comes early here in Southern California. That means the flower fields have started to bloom. That means that the harvesting work has begun. While most of the flowers are used for seed production, some are cut for sale- a hard, labor intensive job. This shot is part of a series I'm doing on the workers entitled "Working the Fields.
