The flow of Twenty-Mile Creek in Ball's Falls Conservation Area of southern Ontario is divided here into layers of ice, snow and water, each reflecting the light in a different way.
"Ebb & Flow" - Porth Nanven, Cornwall
I am quite fond of this shot. I managed this quick 6 second exposure whilst running a workshop at the beach and forgot all about it until my scans came back from being processed. It was actually taken using my Zero2000 pinhole camera and Ektar100 colour film. I like the colour version too, but the strength of the b&w appealed. Pinhole cameras are about as simple as photography can get, and yet have a soft dream like quality all of their own I am always drawn to.

Crumlin Glen weir is one of those places that's been on my list to visit for ages. I had managed to get down on a rather drab and very dull afternoon before, but the light was already gone so I satisfied myself with a recce of the weir and further downstream.
I came back last week, now whilst overhead is was a blanket of cloud I looked for another shot. The one you see now. The contrast between the rocks and the flow of water, coupled with the shear amount of spray gives some impression of this awesome spot. Sadly the cacophony of noise is absent and really has to be appreciated right by the Crumlin River.
Another visit required...
This pattern is formed by flow paths of relatively salty water which then left lighter colored patterns over the darker clays and silts below them, especially near the ends of the flow.
I have no idea why the flow was so jagged, but it was interesting.
I found this little gem not for from a cottage I was staying at. It was already night and was quite dark. I still managed to capture the atmosphere I think. I layered 4 exposures...

There were some new additions to the park since I had been there last, including this fountain. All in all, I think the staff at Sugar Mill Gardens does a great job with keeping the aesthetics of the place nice.
Hey guys! Back from a major conference in Sacramento, followed by a 3-day trip to Yosemite National Park. Both were great, the latter fantastic :D
Will be uploading a whole ton of shots from Yosemite in the coming days. Nice to be back!
