Back from October 31. I wanted to go shoot Caney with the fall foliage. This is the only angle we could get a shot from that day. No way to get over to the other side with flow like this. We even tried to go up top and cross, water was to swift and deep. The spray was covering my lens very quickly.

From the house we can hear the water roaring over the waterfall and downstream so before the heat and snakes I scrambled down to get some shots with my new 'toy' OMD5MkII/12-40 f2.8

Colorado just passed a law allowing rain barrels to collect rainwater in people's yards. Water rules are so strict in the American West and Southwest that there are/were laws prohibiting people from collecting rain on their property/leaseholds because this might keep precious water from reaching the holders of water rights in their area. Seriously.
This is a ditch gate to control water flow both in the ditches and to help prevent flooding when all that rain barrel water pours into the streams.
Many environmentalists and futurists are concerned that water may be the cause of increasing global strife.

It is always nice to find flowing water in the winter. this little waterfall was a short hike form our campsite in Algonquin... an enchanting place and not too cold the day we hiked there.
Snow last night topped by rain, then freezing temps = frozen flow and very slippery going this morning! Luckily it's well above freezing now so the ice is melting away. We've gone from temps below 0 to mid-40'sF in 48 hours - it's always an adventure living in New England!
The beginning of the Worm Flows as I snowshoed up my way to the summit of Mount St. Helens on April 27th, 2024. I got my climbers permit a month prior, but I couldn't pick the weather. Near blizzard conditions near the summit turned me back down the mountain. Every single person that day who started ahead of me made it no further than the Observatory Station. Once I got to that point, low visibility, combined with high winds and icy snow made the whole adventure too risky. It was a great climb, and hope to summit again soon!

Victoria Park is one of Truro's greatest assets - a natural woodland park of roughly 400 acres in the centre of town. Lepper Brook, with its two sets of waterfalls, flows through a steep tree covered rocky gorge. Several walking trails follow along the brook allowing a close view of this unique setting.
