The young trees start out growing fast, straight, and narrow, then slowly develop broadly spreading umbrella canopies as they age. Silk floss trees typically drop their leaves just before they put on their spectacular autumn display of large five-petaled flowers. The petals vary from pale pink to rose to purple or burgundy at the tips and grade into ivory with brownish spots or blotches at the base. After blooming, pear shaped fruits appear which have a silky floss on the seeds, hence the name.

something I drew a while back for a cartoon contest. The aim was to battle the stigmas attached to living with HIV, in this case- the probability of getting infected through day-to-day conduct. Thank you Avital Manor for the brilliant slogan.
I'm not usually a big fan of Fairies but when I saw Fairy Floss I knew she had to come and live with us! The fact she is Purple was a bonus!!
Headed to the post office first thing in the morning! Hope you'll like it Partner! My husband just asked me to make another set to keep at home...guess he likes it too!
I tried to get a number of good shots of the graffiti of which Floss was so proud as to have signed it, sadly it was in a location where I could not safely get a good capture.
Thus I have had to settle for the signature of the artist.

Sometimes I really hate technology. I currently have no internet at my home and Time Warner Cable is on my "kick them in the shins" list. How can I have my cable box work fine but the internet (which is fed off of the same line) doesn't work when only two hours earlier I was surfing the net like a crazy person?????? After using my calm but business like voice with customer service I now have an appointment for a technician to come to my house this coming Wednesday. Now provided that he can fix it at that time, that will be 4 days with no net at home. I had to upload this picture at work.
It is absolutely amazing how influential the internet has become.
Anyway to fill the time that I would normally be on the net, I took this opportunity to organize ALL of my floss.
This is DFN floss from various multipacks I bought from Joann's. Not to step on anyones floss preference but I think DFN is kinda janky but that is only because in my first picture of floss it's the good stuff Presencia (this is the floss that Sublime Stitching carries).
This picture reminds me of when you use to get a brand new box of crayola crayons at the begining of the school year and you had to beg to get the big box. :)
Not sure I'd fancy a candy floss or any other item of food or drink from here, I remember all too well that the penny that was put in the phone box wasn't the only kind of penny spent here....
