Floating Heads by Sophie Cave.in The Kelvingrove Museum.
My night terrors continue around 4am-5am each morning and I still can't make sense of reality. It will probably be this way for the next four years.

One of the most visited museums in the UK, Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum is a place in which I would have loves to spend many hours. Unfortunately, I was on my one-day Charles Rennie Mackintosh whirlwind self-imposed tour but en route to and from Kelvingrove's Mackintosh Gallery I enjoyed the magnificent main hall and these floating heads, part of a redesign of the museum. The museum's web site says, "[the] concept for the heads was to create an installation that encapsulates the word expression, the theme chosen by Glasgow Museum's for one half of the museum. Like a release of balloons, the heads bring lightness and humour to a grand building, lifting visitors heads and acting as a draw to the upstairs galleries... It was inspired by the varied collection of marble busts at the museum, and the heads are a playful homage to Victorian sculpture galleries. "
Yet another beholder variant (reusing an earlier sculpt!!!), the Eye of Shadow is from the shadow realm, and can turn invisible. And teleport. As if Beholders weren't nasty enough already! You know, I wish they made the Eye of Chaos variant, but ah, well...
hmmmmmm....I can't quite put my finger on it but there was something in the air.
oh yeah...on a different note Victor is finishing his 365 sometime this week.
Based on several nightmares I had around the ages of 6 and 7.

here's a little sneak peek of the hyperdoodle that i'm currently working on in the studio. i'm not sure of the exact size, but it's basically a horizontal hollow door. it's the biggest hyperdoodle i've attempted to date. CRAZY!
One of my mum's beautiful daffodils... the sun was out last weekend and I got a nice shot of this one with the dark background of leaves :)
I have to work this morning, but for some reason I couldn't sleep last night, so I've been awake since 3am... I guess by lunch time, I'm gonna be pretty tired, so there'll be no heading away for photographs this afternoon :(
I do hope you all have a lovely weekend and if you've got the day off, enjoy it!!!! :) :) :)
Thank you for visiting my stream and for leaving such lovely comments on yesterday's Dove photo :)
I did this piece earlier this year for the Creative Gallery Show but I never posted it. I ended up trading this piece with another artist. Many of these characters have appeared in older pieces and reappear in newer pieces.
I don't know why, but I'm having so much fun drawing on these prints that I drew into yet another one. One of these days I'll compile all of 'em and make some sort of animation out of them.

I finally finished my piece for the Johnson County Community College Art Auction - yay! In celebration of their ruby anniversary (40 years!), the theme this year is Ruby. Each participating artist was given a really cool box filled with Ruby colored art supplies: ruby oil paint, ruby ink, ruby pastels, etc. If I think of it, I'll take a picture of the box. While I didn't use most of the supplies, I did use the ink which I am now in love with! Using this much ruby was a challenge, but a lot of fun!
Anyway, here's my piece. It's 18x24 inches, done mostly in acrylic, and various inks and poscas, on board.

i had so much fun with that last doodle dream, that i thought i'd add a spark of color to the background. so i scanned the page and then scanned some watercolor dots i'd painted & brought 'em together. this is the result. :)
Prior to my "Some of my Friends" piece being printed, Bob ran several test prints on this great yellow-orange flecked paper. I just love it. Recently, I thought it would be fun to go back into them with various pens. What a blast! This is the result.
