Franklin Street is a significant thoroughfare in the heart of Adelaide, South Australia, running east-west through the city center. It's primarily known for its role as a key transport hub, housing the Adelaide Bus Station. This makes it a crucial arrival and departure point for regional and inter-state public transport. The street has seen considerable development over the years, featuring a mix of commercial buildings, offices, and some residential properties. It's also a street of historical significance, though its modern character leans more towards functionality and transit. Franklin Street serves as a vital artery for traffic and the movement of people within Adelaide's CBD, connecting various parts of the city. Its straight-line design is characteristic of the city's original layout.

Dirt roads of Ikara-Flinders Ranges, South Australia

This weekend I am heading to my most special of places. It has been a rough 12 months for me health wise and I am looking forward to heading up to recharge my batteries with the incredible energy in the land up there, if only for 2 days. But this will be a bit special as my amazing wife will be with me. I spend a lot of time walking, sitting and looking. With Her by my side it will be extra special.

Simplicity, space, and distance from humans. It has it all.

Peace, Denis

not really! some early settlers and explorers believed that 961m mount remarkable (seen at rear) was a volcano - it isn't, but from this angle you can certainly see why they might have thought so!

the dried bushes in the foreground are thorn wattles (Acacia continua), which was a key coloniser after the 2014 bangor fire - which burned out the entire reserve - and is now naturally senescing and beng replaced as the process of succession rolls through

The Morchard Hotel was completed after some delays in June and when it opened George Richard Dowdy was its first publican. It was hoped that it would be a great boon to commercial travellers and at the same time provide rooms for large meetings. Dowdy soon advertised far and wide that his House had ample accommodation for commercial travellers, farmers and visitors to the district.

He also pointed out that the House had large airy bedrooms, private parlours and sample rooms. There was first claa stabling and he only stocked the best brands of ale, wines and spirits. His main object was to make everyone comfortable that visited his hotel.

We were playing around with long exposures and this was somehow the result (4+ minute exposure). You can see the blur on the windmill as well as the clouds.
