After many years servicing the town and tourists, the last pub on Seaford seafront is closing this weekend. The Beachcomber will be demolished to make way for flats for the elderly.
The whole weekend has been given over to celebrating the home of some of the best live music and sound systems in the area. Tonight was the turn of the old rave sound system that first played here in the early 90s.
Not a true blue plaque but worthy of note. This memorial stands opposite the Lybian Embassy in St James Square, London, SW1. It marks the place where she was standing when she was shot on 17th April 1984 by an unknown gunman firing into a crowd of demonstrators. I still remember the shock of seeing the footage on the news that night.
