I do believe that's the first one of these I''ve seen in the wild... Caught it from very damp reeds on a canal bank. Trying to ID it, and it looks like an avian flea of some sort, but I've not got anything definite yet...

She has seen better days, although her position in the garage and the flash I needed to use on this rainy day are not the most flattering. I was just so excited to share her with you. Isn't she beautiful? Look at those original metal handles and that etched glass!
I wonder was she originally intended to be a bar? The top lifts back, the doors beneath it perhaps to store glasses? The door of the next compartment drops down like a writing bureau and beneath it sits another draw.
Today I am going to clean off the dust, wasps mud nests and cobwebs and rub in some furniture oil. Part of me loves the colour and another part of me would like to take to her with white paint, but I am afraid it would be a bit sacrilegious.
Either way, I can already imagine her in the guest bedroom, home to an heirloom dinner set and other special bits and pieces. I will share some more pictures when she has settled in.

The flea goes from the cannon (in the guys hands), through the hoop, through the safety net and is caught by the guy nearest the camera.
Covering the hoop in "lighter fluid" and threatening to light it had to be the best part!
I would have opened it but I already have it full of wool for a class I am taking tomorrow. The lining is in good shape too. Couldn't resist this!!!!!

This one booth was really set up in a way where everything looked interesting. I ended up actually buying an old Brownie Target Six-16 from the guy for 20 bucks. It was an average deal. I'm looking into the easiest way to turn it into a working camera right now.
This doll and the look on her face cracked me up. I also love the colors. I've been doing so much black and white this month, I was glad to go somewhere colorful and shoot.
