Every weekend during the summer there is a big flea market in Pasco, WA, and although I have been living here for four years, I never made it there. Until I needed a place to shoot the first roll of Brownie film, then I went to opening weekend. 06MAR10

Barbie size fold top writing desk - $20
All of the drawers open and the front slants down.
I've had it in mind to make a writing desk for Blythe/Barbie like this. Finding this one was great. I have a plain wooden pine chair that I can use with it (maybe). Barbie is from Amazon, just placed here there for scale reference. The butter churn was with 1:12 stuff. I like the old style. I think it could go with either Blythe or chunkier 1:12 scale stuff.

Walking in Edinburgh's old town, I was surprised to find a whole new public square had opened up behind the Royal Mile. Sibbald Walk has food, a weekend flea market and live music.

Some years ago, I was invited to participate in an art exhibition in France. The theme was the circus, so I created this image. I imagined a flea circus, and the two characters showed here, are the "security personnel" who keeps the intruders out of the big top. Of course, it's up to them to choose the methods to get their job done...

Lucerne fleas (3mm) are and imported European springtail (Sminthurus viridis) and are a pest to some crops such as clover and broad-leaf crops.
We have clover plants growing in the back yard where they live. You can see where they have eaten the surface off the leaf in these photos.

Most of our flea markets/antique shows were cancelled this year due to covid, but one was held in July and I found some great Barbie deals. A few more pics to follow.

the average person's flea market. more people, no airconditioning, could be filthy, could be smelly, no protection from the elements but better bargains. there are many such markets in manila for the adventurous bargain hunters. this is one of the earliest and original flea markets in the philippines that dates back to over a hundred years
