I bought the child's play table at a yard sale today for $12.00. It has had some bad repairs but is still fantastic for tea parties. I got the doll several weeks ago on our Florida trip for $10.00. The doll came had both the dress and the sunsuit on. The flatware was Kimmerle's from the 70's, made in Germany...Dishes from yard sales.

This table belonged to Margaret Bell Humphreys, born 3-15-1911...died 3-5-07.

I bought the table from her first cousins once removed. They were so sweet telling me all about Margaret. The following pictures of her I shot at the yard sale through glass. And they GAVE me the picture of Margaret shown with the ornaments.

Our Daily Challenge: plastic

20th Century Fox flatware reproduced for film.

Always ask for a fresh plate and flatware when dining in outdoor cafés.

A Super Westomat 35 eyes up a delicious plateful of 35mm film.

Out-take from a food photography theme.

Unfortunately, the Westomat is a shelf queen, as the rangefinder is hopelessly uncalibrated and the shutter does not fire. Which is a shame, because it's a gorgeous thing.

I started this before I left for Wyoming and at the time it was all about the vintage table cloth. It evolved into so much more.

A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE IN THE HUNDERTWASSER WOODS (WIP) Art piece inspired by the design of some plates and forks I found (separately!) that, when put together, reminded me a bit of the style of Austrian artist Hundertwasser (my thanks to Jane for that introduction). Originally begun as an entry for Pam and Ciel Gallery's recent Mosaic Show, but I'm just too slow...!

I went to tea with my parents today. The tea house is in a lovely old house that was renovated recently...it's so cute!

They serve sorbet in these tiny tea cups :)

I search all the local thrift stores and local markets for silverplate. I take it home, polish it up and give it a new life as these handy-dandy fork easels. They're perfect for recipes, notes, photos,... and more. 100% recycled and so much fun!

I've been hunting for antique silver flatware and won these beauties on ebay. :) Love the unusual spoon shapes.

Mixed greens – collards, mustard, turnip

All cooked in my “special sauce,” which is seasoned and flavored AS IT COOKS rather than afterward.

Which contains:

3 onions (2-red, 1-yellow), fresh crushed garlic/garlic powder, thyme, oregano, white vinegar, variety of hot sauces/peppers, paprika, coarse kosher salt, freshly ground/cracked black pepper, ¾ pound sausage, bacon grease (sauté onions & garlic), plenty of dark brown sugar, plus maple syrup and smoke flavoring – and cooked all day.

A little warmth, and a bit of sweet – and a whole lotta’ complex.

None of it matches
