I made Scrambled eggs for breakfast with five large eggs, Salt & Black pepper, Provolone cheese and Spinach. Scrambled the eggs in a takeout soup container, added sautéed spinach and torn up two slice of Provolone cheese.

Then I toasted two slices of Rye bread and then buttered the toast and cut in in half. I saved 1/2 the Scrambled eggs for my wife.

Wooden spoon oil. A natural version here.

For Smile on Saturday "Jam in Vertical Photo" theme

...every article designed for use, of each and every kind, evolved from a very simple beginning."

Quote by Robert Collier

Flowers, china and flatware ready for the guests to arrive.

Actually I should do the dishes. But suddenly the filthiness catched my eye. What constitutes beauty?

His latest acquisition, Vintage 30’s American Airlines Flagship silverware with the DC3 fuselage engraved on the handles. Times have definitely changed. Not only did they have silver plated flatware and china, but the local wives would prepare home cooked meals to be served on the flights.

I got an unexpected gift from a friend in Montana this Christmas! It was a boxed salt cellar & sterling silver spoon set that she had found in a house where she was living in 1973-1974. She kept it all this time, in its original box & decided to give it to me, since she knew I collect salts. The salt cellar itself is fairly simple--square clear molded glass--#1525 in the Cambridge Glass product line. Although the design is simple, I do not have one like it in my collection. Because it was in a box that gave some information about it, I was able to learn its origin online. The spoon is the Enchanting Orchid pattern made by the Westmorland Sterling Company in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, USA--one of their five flatware patterns, circa 1952-1960. The boxed sets were a collaboration between the Westmorland Sterling Company & the Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio, USA, to be given out as gifts to prospective customers! Links below give further information. I photographed the salt in morning light with a rainbow cast by the prism hanging in my window! Not photoshopped!

On the silverware

Kroger had Screamin' Sicilian frozen pizzas on sale 1/2 price (or essentially BOGO ) this week. My wife got us Holy Pepperoni and Bessie's Revenge Cheese frozen pizzas. We had leftover slices after having both for our dinner. We added some Mt. Olive Mild Jalapeño slices to our Pepperoni pie and I added dried Oregano to my Cheese pizza slices.

Melding a fork from my all-time favourite cutlery set (its hammered stainless steel from the Martha Steward line of flatware) with an adorable teeny-tiny Re-Ment (miniature) strawberry shortcake to create something that appeals to both dolls and humans alike :)

(for Smile on Saturday "fork(s) reflected in spoon(s)" theme)

From my collection

We ordered dinner from the Popeye's online mobile app. Drove up to Halls to pickup our order. We brought our pup, Rosey along with us.

We got Chicken sandwiches, Cajun Fries, Biscuits, Popcorn shrimp, Chicken tenders and Frozen Mango lemonades.

We were disappointed with the Popcorn shrimp. They were mostly breading. We thoroughly enjoyed the Frozen Mango lemonade. As well as the Chicken sandwiches. The Cajun fries were solid and the biscuits just fine.

Day 226 (v 8.0) - have a knife day

Finally grouted in Charcoal...I always like bright colors next to black, but with all the different bits in this, it required lots of clean up time!

Recycled dishes, unglazed ceramic tile, rescued vitreous glass tile, Moroccan terra cotta micro and nano tiles, Italian millefiore, stainless steel flatware,"black" tempered glass salvaged from auto wrecking yard, ball chain on shaped 'environmental' MDF. ~ 24" x 18"

This is only 2/3 of the aisle at my grocery store that has plates/bowls, flatware, cups. Because AMERICA!! The plates are paper or plastic (the red ones are plastic, definitely). The flatware is usually plastic as well, but they also sell a cheap metal version. Behind where I was standing to take this pic is where ALL THE CUPS are located. Plastic, clear, colors, opaque, and even some (very cheap) metal cups.

Why am I sharing this? Because we're talking about dishes in

We're Here!

Hand painted tobacco leaf plates, sterling silver flatware, glass decanters with removable stoppers, and sterling silver gravy boat. The penny is for scale.

Got a new base for product photography. Testing it out with flatware and california rolls.

My Mother-in-Law took us out to eat for dinner. She surprised everyone by bringing her friend, Lisa with her.We ordered a Cheese dip to go with the free tortilla chips. Then we orders some drinks: my Mother-in-Law got a small margarita, my wife got a Diet soda, I got a Sweet tea and Lisa got a Sweet tea with Lemon.

We all got something different to eat: Mother-in-Law got Malcojete mix, my wife got Spinach and mushroom Enchiladas (and added Chicken), I got Chicken carnitas with corn tortillas and Lisa got the Taco salad with ranch dressing and no beans.

We all got takeout containers for leftovers.

My new bargain. Ebay find- 150 pieces vingage hotel silver.

Taken for the "Looking Close... on Friday!" theme of 3/1/2024: ONE FORK & ONE SPOON.

Went a different route for our main on the 4th of July. We slow cooked a Pork roast. Put it in a slow cooker with water, Onion soup mix and herbs & spices.

Assembled hoagies on 7-inch pre-sliced hoagie rolls, with Provolone cheese and Mil giardiniera.

Saved some pork for a lunch this weekend and put the remaining Pork and broth in the freezer for a future meal.

I finally finished putting everything away, except for these things. After I took this, I remembered where the HK yellow tomato(?) goes, and most of the silver flatware, the straws, and the pastries are from used lots. I'm completely lost on the small yellow sauce dish and the blue bowl. The half orange and juicer were a used separate purchase, as was the yellow and green cutter thingy (I have no idea what that's called. Can you tell?) 😉 I'm thinking the round light bulb also came in a used lot, but I don't remember what the blue and white box is from. It must be a drug store set, but I don't have any full drug store sets except for the new Sumiko Gurashi one. I think the flatware with the bows must be from a character set, but looking through my cards, I didn't see them. I know the tiny plant came with a small used lot, but if anyone remembers where it belongs, please let me know. I have no idea what the clump of yellow food is, but i think the green basket is from a character set. I can't remember what sets the cutting board and rolling pin are from, either. That leaves the three jars on the back right. I have no idea what they are, or where they were when I got all of the red things out. Now I'm wondering if they are even Rement! ;)

Before I put away the flatware that we used at Easter dinner I wanted to photograph it. This was my grandmother's silverware ( on my Mom's side). Some patterns I find are too ornate for my taste but I absolutely love this pattern. I'm so happy to have something of my grandmothers to enjoy and hopefully pass down to my daughter.
