With Christmas fast approaching I made these. A bottle-top Christmas cake; oaken flatware ; and bottled Morello cherries.
I was inspired by cherries in syrup that went for £34 on ebay, but I am no IGMA Fellow & mine did not attract the same level of interest. Although mine are more true to scale & more realistic.
The flatware - bowls, cups, saucers - are an experiment using acorn cups to simulate Denby Russet.
Over the course of the past year, I've noticed that our flatware is disappearing. In an attempt to isolate dates on which it went missing, I began photographing sets. This image is one of those images.
Right out of the dishwasher... hmmm, I wonder what I should photograph for tomorrow's photo...

Ikea is onto me! I suppose they knew i was doing a 365 project and consipired to name an entire line of cutlery and flatware after my endeavors.
No, but seriously, i've spent two separate afternoons exploring Ikea of Atlanta and i'm blown away by the hospitality, selection, fun, quality, value, and cleverness of Swedish design. I'm shopping as a precursor to moving into a new home in the coming months. We'll see. We'll see...
