Simon’s faux wood flatware set of 20

With Christmas fast approaching I made these. A bottle-top Christmas cake; oaken flatware ; and bottled Morello cherries.

I was inspired by cherries in syrup that went for £34 on ebay, but I am no IGMA Fellow & mine did not attract the same level of interest. Although mine are more true to scale & more realistic.

The flatware - bowls, cups, saucers - are an experiment using acorn cups to simulate Denby Russet.

Over the course of the past year, I've noticed that our flatware is disappearing. In an attempt to isolate dates on which it went missing, I began photographing sets. This image is one of those images.

Right out of the dishwasher... hmmm, I wonder what I should photograph for tomorrow's photo...

Ikea is onto me! I suppose they knew i was doing a 365 project and consipired to name an entire line of cutlery and flatware after my endeavors.

No, but seriously, i've spent two separate afternoons exploring Ikea of Atlanta and i'm blown away by the hospitality, selection, fun, quality, value, and cleverness of Swedish design. I'm shopping as a precursor to moving into a new home in the coming months. We'll see. We'll see...

I think I like color better -- seems richer -- but I like the angles better in this B&W.

The sign that hangs off the ceiling inside the theater advertising free plates and flatware from a bygone era.

I wanted a ring that could hold chocolate. Yep, that was my inspiration.

We ate breakfast at the airport before taking off for home. In the interest of public safety (or something), this is the flatware at the restaurant. Its...well, it's cute.

vintage flatware, glass enamel on copper, sterling silver, brass, and patina

Flatware, dinnerware, glassware and much more!!

I like this sliverware because it has clean lines, and a good size to hold in your hand. It's very different from what you'd see at my mothers house.
