I went to the flea market today and bought some flatware. The guy asked what I made with them. I told him jewelry. He asked if I ever bent the fork tines around, I told him not yet. He asked if I had seen rose vases made out of the hollow ware handles; I told him I had not.
(He also thought that I was a 'Yankee' , but I told him we was wrong about that as well!)
So I came home and decided to do both of those things. The design of this ring evolved during it's creation, but I am quite happy with the end result.
I wish I had a real flower to photograph with it, but fake will have to do...

The Hofburg Palace, in the heart of Vienna, Austria, is a remarkable example of the Habsburg Empire’s power and wealth. When touring the imperial palace, I was struck by the elaborate collection of royal tableware. The lavish lifestyle of the monarchs was revealed simply by their golden table settings. Even the Habsburg knives and forks, such a small facet of their daily routine, reflect the sumptuousness of their lifestyle. In Vienna, tourists look forward to delicious pastries and coffee, but will it be served to them on gold?
