North Carolina in late summer is a sight to behold - one patch of suburban woodland produced this incredible array of Russula (reds, oranges, and a few green and white), Suillus and other Boletes (oranges and yellows), Lactarius (greens, blues, and white) and Laccaria (purple and white).

The rose is named "Golden Celebrations". An English rose which is blooming beautifully in my garden at the moment.

a gift from my husband years ago.

Handmade by a German artist.

In various sizes and colors, mohair fur ...

and they're all wearing a little red bow.

Moved away from shooting with the rule of thirds in mind

and placed these little bears at the bottom of my composition.

Today I am paying tribute to my mother who taught me how to sew and thus began my love of crafting and the pursuing of lots of hobbies (I have the full craft room to prove it). I treasure the times of sewing together with my mom to make my girls dresses. Maybe some day we can sit and sew together again, for now we are in two different states and we both have crazy schedules!
