Some items are hard to capture on a table top, benefitting from the flow of water to create their pattern. Here is a flat lay of yellow pine pollen, white oak leaves, some small rocks and a storm drain surrounded by concrete.

Green is my favorite color, but the purple ones are the prettiest of the bunch and the purple one gets the center spot. Five varieties of sea urchin shells, with sea urchin spines to draw the lines.

inspired by the group Looking Close on Friday theme: odd one out

I used what I had on hand to do this flat lay and I was just working in the garden when the idea become better formed in my mind. I had just gotten the fresh seeds and the box to store them in yesterday and bought the plants this morning for my garden. Those are actually my gloves just removed so the dirt is fresh. :D My daughter put the purple flower under the thumb. Happy Mother's Day!

Found inside the blue Delft stroopwaffel can that supports my clock. How many things can you identify? Which would be the most unique? The most useful? The most surprising? Which one is enigmatic? Need any explained or identified?

Just looked at this again and the orange thing looks like a frog in profile!!

I came home from a beach vacation, but my heart still lingers there. Or, maybe it's just a collection of beach rocks and shells...

I'm not much of a writer but I received these items in part of a prize package I won on Instagram a few months ago. I've decided to use the little notebook to contemplate my day and each evening to write one sentence. Baby steps right?

Showing what's flowering in my garden at the moment.

I read my first Moomin book in the 3rd grade. The top left, Comet in Moominland, is what I still have from that early collection, 1979.

I've read Moominvalley in November every November for over 25 years and read it sporadically 10 years or so before that. This one is from 1996

And as much as I love in November, Moominpappa at Sea is my favorite. This one was published 1968.

Hi! Nice to meet you!

If you are like me, a colourful person, you might enjoy this flickr account.

This is a simple colour project that I’m planning to make into a photobook in a year (or whenever I feel finished). To see the colours in the right rainbow order, please look in the rainbow album www.flickr.com/photos/colourproject/albums/72157696282825911

I've tried a new recipe from Taiwan... marbled tea eggs... boiled in black tea, soy sauce with bay leaves, a stick of cinnamon, one star anise, salt and sugar... and I love the design on the inside of the eggshells...

I have accumulated many pencils. Because they are soft, they wear down fast, so I have to keep replenishing them. These are merely a few of what I have.

Size 5 and size 3 coats in orange and charcoal wool Melton. Spoonflower circuit board print lining and insulated vest. These are my 4th and 5th coats using this awesome pattern! See my photo stream for construction photos.

It’s the Doha marathon this weekend. I am running 10km - first time racing this distance. I started big with running and did a marathon as my first ever distance and the training schedule was pretty full on so giving myself a breather before attempting another marathon in May. It’s a new course along the seafront (corniche) and I am quite looking forward to finishing and cheering on the longer distances.
