This day brings us back to our childhood memories and the many boxes of Animal Crackers we shared with our friends. Animal Crackers refer to a type of small cookie baked in the shape of circus or zoo animals, such as a lion, tiger, bear or elephant. The most common variety are light-colored and slightly sweet. However, chocolate and frosted varieties are also available. Even though animal crackers are made with layered dough much like crackers, they are sweet like cookies.

HISTORY
Our research was unable to find the creator of National Animal Crackers Day. It did locate information confirming in the late 1800s animal shaped cookies were imported to the U.S. from England. In 1902 animal crackers officially became known as “Barnum’s Animals” and evoked the familiar circus theme of the Barnum and Bailey Circus. Later that year, the now-familiar box with a string was designed for the Christmas season made to hang from the Christmas tree. They were a big hit in 1902 and still are today. Recently I did one of my regular trips to our local artisan chocolate maker in the next village and the designs on the tablet looked so nice I got inspired to take a photo of them: one milk chocolate, one dark.
We are now actively engaged in the process of eating them!
Single exposure with the Micro–Nikkor 85mm f/2.8 tilt–shift lens.
Strobist and technical: One Phottix Pro Indra500 monolight on a Profoto light stand in lateral position to camera left, 2 meters from subject and 1 meter above it, firing horizontally at 1/8 and ⅔ power through a Phottix Pro 110–cm Luna octabox with double diffuser. Large white card reflector to camera right.
Strobe set and triggered via Phottix Pro Odin II radio controller on the Nikon Z7 hot shoe, manual mode. Gitzo GT3543 XLS tripod with Arca–Swiss Cube C1 geared head. Nikon Z7 camera body, Micro–Nikkor 85mm f/2.8 PC–E tilt–shift lens, manual focus. FTZ adapter.
I'm trying to get a panel of photos for a competition at my camera club. I forgot all about it so as usual I am very last minute. This is one of the photos I am thinking of using. My husband bought me the beautiful glass teapot and I treated myself to the rosebud tea...it's deliciously refreshing but I realise it wouldn't be everyone's 'cup of tea'. I thought it would also come in handy for photo props...always have to think of photo props ;)

Some items are hard to capture on a table top, benefitting from the flow of water to create their pattern. Here is a flat lay of yellow pine pollen, white oak leaves, some small rocks and a storm drain surrounded by concrete.

Green is my favorite color, but the purple ones are the prettiest of the bunch and the purple one gets the center spot. Five varieties of sea urchin shells, with sea urchin spines to draw the lines.
I used what I had on hand to do this flat lay and I was just working in the garden when the idea become better formed in my mind. I had just gotten the fresh seeds and the box to store them in yesterday and bought the plants this morning for my garden. Those are actually my gloves just removed so the dirt is fresh. :D My daughter put the purple flower under the thumb. Happy Mother's Day!
Brinlie Brittle was so excited to get a post card from friend in 29 Palms. She's going to visit soon so she's got her swim wear all ready cause it's hot hot hot out there :D

Size 5 and size 3 coats in orange and charcoal wool Melton. Spoonflower circuit board print lining and insulated vest. These are my 4th and 5th coats using this awesome pattern!

Found inside the blue Delft stroopwaffel can that supports my clock. How many things can you identify? Which would be the most unique? The most useful? The most surprising? Which one is enigmatic? Need any explained or identified?
Just looked at this again and the orange thing looks like a frog in profile!!
