My sweet girl is home on Spring Break this week and wanted to help me with my composition today. She provided the artwork and stuffed animal. We made smoothie bowls with inspiration taken from my new cookbook - The Pretty Dish by Jessica Merchant. I outlined more details about how I want my 100 days to proceed in the journal my older daughter made me a few years ago. I still struggle to use it regularly because prior to receiving it the only time I wrote in a journal was when I was sad or frustrated and I hate looking back at those entries. Heading out to play and follow my own advice to stop spending too much time on social media and more time with family or working towards my goals.

PS - I made a big batch of homemade granola yesterday, I forgot how tasty it is. Yummo!

Keys are useful. They do so much. They can take you on adventures, unlock mysteries, keep things in/others out and get you home.

Indulge in a moment of quiet contemplation. A warm cup of coffee, a captivating book, and the soft glow of candlelight set the mood for a cozy night in. Sometimes all you need is a quiet moment to yourself to relax and recharge.

We are passionate about bringing a relaxed approach while creating beautiful, natural and vibrant images.

Entered as is.

This is NOT RECOLORED. North Carolina in late summer is a sight to behold - one patch of suburban woodland produced this incredible array of Russula (reds, oranges, and a few green and white), Suillus and other Boletes (oranges and yellows), Lactarius (greens, blues, and white) and Laccaria (purple and white).

When planning to travel or photograph an event, I always seem to find myself asking, “what did I use last year,” or “what did I pack for that?”

Instead of digging through EXIF data and trying to reconstruct a kit, I’m trying to get better about cataloging what gear I bring (and also what gear doesn’t get used) for travel and events.

This is what I planned to use for Special Olympics Michigan’s State Summer Games in 2026.

Bassett's Liquorice Allsorts ...

Bassett's use the story of their creation in their marketing. In 1899 Charlie Thompson, a sales representative, supposedly dropped a tray of samples he was showing a client in Leicester, mixing up the various sweets. After he scrambled to re-arrange them, the client was intrigued by the new creation. Quickly the company began to mass-produce the allsorts and they became very popular.

Not much to photograph these days, so I thought I would try some more macro and flat lay stuff. Wouldn't it be great to travel with only these effects?
