I listened to a podcast on Instgram by Deanne Love this morning and then got carried away with a photo challenge set by Deanne.

It has really taken off on Instagram myfavhoop with many people (including me) doing it with more than one hoop.
A little bit of fun during lockdown. This is my least used hoop so it was time to give it a little love - it needed dusting before I took the photo!

This is a flat lay image of my dinner - a grilled flank steak, mashed sweet poataoes and green beans sauteed with onions and cajun seasoning.
This year I'm using a different film format each month, starting with the smallest and working my way up through the sizes. The format for April is 110, the “Pocket Instamatic” cartridge introduced by Kodak in 1972 and still available today. I've got a lot of 110 cameras, so I've set myself the challenge of using a different one each day of the month. The plan is to shoot 2 or 3 photos with a camera, and then transfer the film to the next one for the next day, making 30 different cameras altogether. This is a selection of 110 models, ranging from the ultra simple, to the more sophisticated SLR with interchangeable lenses. I know from experience that even cameras which appear to be in working order sometimes fail when it comes to using actual film, but I'm reasonably confident that from these 40 or so cameras I'll be able to get 30 that work.

Keys are useful. They do so much. They can take you on adventures, unlock mysteries, keep things in/others out and get you home.
My sweet girl is home on Spring Break this week and wanted to help me with my composition today. She provided the artwork and stuffed animal. We made smoothie bowls with inspiration taken from my new cookbook - The Pretty Dish by Jessica Merchant. I outlined more details about how I want my 100 days to proceed in the journal my older daughter made me a few years ago. I still struggle to use it regularly because prior to receiving it the only time I wrote in a journal was when I was sad or frustrated and I hate looking back at those entries. Heading out to play and follow my own advice to stop spending too much time on social media and more time with family or working towards my goals.
PS - I made a big batch of homemade granola yesterday, I forgot how tasty it is. Yummo!

Flatlay still life with forget me not flowers. The background is created by cutting a hole in the lid of a shoe box to form a niche to frame the flowers - and laying some textured card underneath them. A separate texture, from a weather-worn metal post found and shot in Bristol, has then been added around the niche and around the edge of the 'shoebox lid' background in processing.
Each Sunday afternoon we (my dear hubby and me) prepare a pot of vegetabe for our meal Monday thru Friday.
To mark Rememberance Sunday in the UK today - here is a composite flatlay still life of a dead/dying rose laid in a box and set against two gravestone textures shot at Arnos Vale Cemetery here in Bristol. Lest we forget.

Bassett's Liquorice Allsorts ...
Bassett's use the story of their creation in their marketing. In 1899 Charlie Thompson, a sales representative, supposedly dropped a tray of samples he was showing a client in Leicester, mixing up the various sweets. After he scrambled to re-arrange them, the client was intrigued by the new creation. Quickly the company began to mass-produce the allsorts and they became very popular.
