Well here's a scene alittle out of the blue for all you summertime folks! Flathead Lake is quite the place to have fun if you're a water fan....lots of boating, Sea Doing, floating...you name it! It's been in the 90s here and it's hard not to think about swimming but it's quite early here for that! My son who lives very close to Flathead lake said he went in this last week and it was very, very cold! LOL ...better him than me!! :) Have a great evening all. I have to work an extra day this week plus my shift starts at 5 am now instead 6 am!!! I've been alittle out of the loop this week...haven't felt well...so anyway..I'll be back soon!! :) The haziness is from fires!

Erected in 1902, the Flathead County Courthouse in a small traffic circle just south of downtown, was designed by the firm of Bell & Kent. It was constructed by contractors Hastie & Dougan, and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
Flathead County is home to the western half of Glacier National Park, one of my favorite places.
An old abandoned flathead Ford located on the east side of the Thompson river near Spences Bridge. These things seem to be a dime a dozen around here.
This Altered Sedan was in the pit area at the 2016 Meltdown Drags, Byron, Illinois. There were a number of Ford Flathead powered dragsters here, and some ran really strong.

A chopped & channeled 1931 Ford sedan, with what appears to be a 59A Ford Flathead providing the power. It has Edelbrock finned aluminum heads and three Stromerg 97 carburetors. Old school all the way, including the wide whitewalls. Photographed at the Amboy Depot Days Car Show, 2015.
This, is Ol' Flathead (affectionately named); he is a local to the area of a gem of a bar we found, the Fortuna.
The best seat 'in' the house of the said bar, is ironically just outside of it, beneath a Plane tree.
From its' secluded and elevated position you get to watch an azure backdropped life pass you by; and indeed, are privileged with the company (not presence; they choose you!) of such a visitor.
Not sure on why the ears are laid back (permanent), but from a quick internet search, I assume due a Scottish Fold breed.
One of the original paint options for a 1936 Harley flathead was Nile Green and Maroon. I suppose that's what this color scheme is.
Taken at the Antique Motorcycle Club of America's 2nd annual Southern National Meet in Denton, NC. Lots of cool old bikes of all makes and models.
Dozens more antique motorcycle pictures in the Smugmug gallery!

A beautiful old Flathead (yes, engines are beautiful to me) V8 in a 32 Ford raodster. Taken at the 2009 Fresno Autorama.
What did Lena spot on the sandy bottom? The dusky flathead is a camouflaging champion :)
Qu'est-ce que Léna a aperçu sur le fond sableux? Le "dusky flathead" (platycephalus fuscus), est un pro du camouflage :)

A stop at the Replica 1950's Vintage NASCAR shop at Denton Farm Park always produces some interesting photo ops. Always love to see one of these, as my first racing ride was powered by one of these and resided in a 46 Ford! If ya haven't driven one on the dirt track, you likely don't get it.
