A rainy morning with wet pavement in Park Slope, Brooklyn, along Flatbush Avenue. (4/15/2019)

300 Ashland Place and Flatbush Avenue - Brooklyn

Franny's offered artisanal pizza using local ingredients and was very well received. They eventually moved to a much larger space closer to Grand Army Plaza, but they've since closed.

I was coming home late, it was 4am and I had to transfer at Atlantic Ave to catch my train home. I missed my stop because I was tired and into the music on my iPhone... I went just one extra stop so I got out of the train and walked back to Atlantic Avenue. I had the camera in my bag. Instinctually I knew just because I shouldn't have been there it must have been meant to be. In that 3 block walk in 5 minutes I actually got 5 good pictures... There are no mistakes !

As we leave Veggie Castle we pass by I see a vacant building - I wish I could buy it to create a Rec Center because we know the city won't!

March 14, 2019: Brooklyn; what we have lost. Flatbush Avenue 2013.

I was able to sneak a couple pictures in between work yesterday. It killed me to not have the day off to roam around in the snow with the camera. It seems like it's been so long!

New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R62 no. 1571 (Kawasaki, 1983-1985) is the lead motor on a southbound 2 train that just arrived at its final stop: Flatbush Ave-Brooklyn College Station on the IRT Nostrand Avenue Line. Due to weekend work, 2 trains were running in two sections: Wakefield-241st St to 3rd Ave-149th St and Harlem-148th St to Flatbush Ave-Brooklyn College. The latter section was using a few R62 trainsets normally used in 3 service, which was instead suspended.

I was shooting the exterior of this beautiful 19th Century house and the caretaker invited me inside to take a look. This room looks ok but other parts need a lot of work.

This is a reshoot of a snapshot I took of these signs earlier (see "Street Talk").

I love the cacaphony of signage on this block near the intersection of Flatbush and 6th Avenue, and hopefully I've captured a bit of it here.
