Today the Hereios of the Weโre Here! Group are doing Digital (though not as we know it). This is a no-frills b/w photo with the foreign object left in one corner, as it would be had film been used.

The taller trees in the center of this shot are located on Flat Island in the Rhode River. The island is owned by the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center which is located along the river.
There are several islands in the river. Flat Island is rapidly disappearing due to over use by people and their dogs trampling the vegetation and causing erosion. One, High Island has already disappeared and become a shoal that is hazardous to boaters. The River Keeper has asked the public to avoid using the island in hopes it can be saved.

There are many islands in the Chesapeake Bay that have also disappeared due to human activity. I hope this one can be saved.

It takes dedication and a fair amount of insanity to leave a warm, comfortable bed and room at 0630 on a Sunday morning to take part in a Carnevale sunrise shoot. Walking through dark alleys in Venice doesnโt worry me at all. Itโs a magical feeling as long as you donโt step on dog poop. History all around me, it is something I never tire of and canโt explain it. 15 minutes later Iโm at the shooting site along the Grand Canal, almost an hour before sunrise โฆ and the place is packed with hundreds of models, photographers, and visitors. Donโt these people have a life? My respect and admiration for the models jumped. It takes some of them 2-3 hours to get ready. That is dedication. Here are some IPhone photos from this morningโs shenanigans. Chances are Iโll do it again tomorrow morning, only because my favorite bakery will be open on the way back to my flat. Enjoy!

This is a flat lay image of my dinner - a grilled flank steak, mashed sweet poataoes and green beans sauteed with onions and cajun seasoning.
This fine gentle is a sherpa, meaning that he's got to carry heavy loads from parts of the Himalayas to others, going up and down the mountains, except when he's crossing that bridge.
Because you can't see it on the picture, but we're in Chomrong, Nepal, home of the longest mountainous staircase I've ever seen. From the bridge, no matter what side you're going, you have about 3 times the size of the Eiffel Tower to climb, using steps of randoms sizes.
So even though the man in the picture seems to struggle, this may still be the easiest part in his entire day of hiking around.

Nice thing about flats boats they can skim across water depths as little as six inches at 50 mph!
The Sigma 150-600 has become my go to. On the Canon full frames it allows for a lot of crop and edit.
