The Flat Creek Ranch is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places under criterion A because of its association with events that have made a significant contribution to the broad patterns of our history, and in particular because its origins and development reflect the contours of settlement and social development of Jackson Hole. Indeed, by following the history of the Flat Creek Ranch the various contexts of local development – early settlement, dud ranching, the emergence of hobby ranches and retreats by outside owners – take a concrete form. The ranch formed a representative and key determining element in transforming Jackson Hole from an isolated ranching valley to a haven for outsides, especially for the nation’s elite seeking remote sanctuary.
The buildings of the Flat Creek Ranch are in each instance original, dating from construction in the early 1920s.

The Adventures of Flat Stanley: Our niece sent us this little paper man for a class project in which each student makes a Flat Stanley and sends him somewhere far away to play. I need a creative outlet these days (I'm planning my next big painting, currently), and had fun with this. Jason was not happy about having Stanley as the third wheel on a romantic date night the other night, but Stanley stayed in my purse through most of dinner and the movie. :)

Emphasis on "flat." These insects are paper thin, living under bark where they feed on fungi. Their beak-like mouthparts are exceptionally long, coiled like a watch spring when not in use.
Found this totally flat asparagus stalk growing among normal asparagus in our patch one year - the anomaly has never appeared again.
We're putting our flat on the market, so I took these shots so the estate agent has more photos to choose from.
You should see what's out of shot in these photos - it's quite funny - there's a massive pile of mess just out of the frame :)
