Ambient and Flash using STU

Something a little bit different but still all my own work

my first attempt at some pregnancy pictures, my beautiful wife, who is not pregnant, posing for me. I am taking some real pregnancy pictures this weekend for my brother and his wife.

Created by paper sculpture artist, Suhail Shaikh.

Blogged: www.allthingspaper.net/2013/12/paper-sculpture-artist-suh...

He's still at it, I think I'll have to relocate him in the morning before he demolishes all the flowers.

He would sleep a lot ,in this photo he was snoozen on our bed with the cool evening breeze coming through the window ,,,sad to see a Ferret that don't have the energy to romp n stomp around like he should ,but he was safe , cared for and protected ,,Mr.Flash seemed to know it & showed his appreciation to us for it , lovable fellah!!

My first attempt in both DIY studio and also maternity shoots.

The baby was due in a month time when this was taken (only a couple of weeks now!), and I thought it's about time we do this before it's too late. This was one of our personal favorites, although I should've done better with the creases on the muslin clothes.

It's gonna be a really different and exciting year for me. I wish you all a fantastic new year too!

Strobe info:

- 580 ex ii & shoot-through umbrella where the wife is facing.

- A silver reflector left of camera to fill

- A bare 430 ex ii behind the subject to light the backdrop - caught her right arm a little :-(

Austin Convention Center lit up with portable flashes. Compare with this image for non-flash version. My friend Ryon and I put our RF transmitters and flashes to use!

Strobist:

- 4 x Nikon SB-24/25 flashes on light stands with different Roscoe gel samples attached

- 1 x Canon 550EX hand held near camera across the street zoomed in to light up top logo

- Triggered by 4 pocketwizards and 1 ebay set :)

- Canon 10-22 @ 10mm on a 20D, 1/125s @ f/5.6, ISO 400

Strobist info: 580 ex on stand behind me bounced into wall, ceiling using lightsphere ... fired via Microsync.

Sawyer was being funny/cute so I decided to take some pictures. Then I noticed after the flash went off he would make a weird face. So that meant it was time to hold the shutter button down. left is auto focus assist, right is post flash strobe
