Forgive me for having a flashback to last christmas. I liked this small candle of bee wax very much. I liked it so much that I didn't light it until today. Well, here it is...
As I was taking this photo with the camera's self-timer, my neighbour popped her head above the fence to say "hello!" Gave me a bit of a fright.

This is a fly I would never leave home without... I first discovered this attractor pattern from an article i had read in the Fly Fisherman (Dec 96) issue. This was from Dave Lambroughtons '5 world class flies' article... The recipe for this was vague, but the article provided enough information necessary to make this fly. No particular hook was specified, so i will leave that to your discretion. Below is the recipe which i taylored to the success of tying this fly.

1965 Plymouth Belvedere II altered wheelbase (or A/FX) car. The rear axle of the car is moved forward on the body to increase the weight transfer during hard acceleration. Because the center of gravity is just in front of the rear axle, these cars would leave the starting line with the front wheels raised high in the air.
I was experimenting with using an overly small aperture setting to intentionally introduce image diffraction. In this shot, the goal was to make the gold lettering on the side the focal point while blurring the rest of the car to illustrate rapid movement. Of the shots taken, this was the only one that came close to achieving that goal. Sometimes, I just have to play with the buttons and dials to see what happens. Shot 1/50th @ F/14. The only editing was a slight contrast adjustment.

Here's a 37 year spread with two of my oldest buds. The top shot is on our bikes in Bailey, Colorado in 2002 and the row below is the 3 of us from our 1965 high school yearbook. Robert had just ridden that nice Honda all the way from Houston to ride with us, Buddy lived about 15 miles up the road by this time. We had a great ride and even went to the top of Mount Evans at 14,264 feet.
Unedited shot of a boy in the Sarphatipark in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
Looking at this picture, I get flashbacks to my childhood, I used to be half a jungle-kid, living outdoors, playing in the woods with my friends, riding my bicycle everywhere, roaming the fields and forests, discovering animals, plants and all those other things that make being in the free, open nature such a fun thing...now that I'm grown-up (age-wise, mentally I'm still about 8 years old, lol ;) I'm forced to spend most of my time inside artificial environments, creating value for the shareholders of the company I work for, instead of being out there, enjoying the good things in life...but I can't really complain, I still get to ride my bike each day while listening to music, watching the birds, enjoying the sights and sounds of the park and the many creatures living in and around the canals and rivers in the best city in the world :))
And yes, of course all this reminiscing of the old days makes me hum this song in my head, putting a smile on my lips :)
I've also shot a movie of this puddle in the park, check it out on my YouTube channel, thank you :)
Flashback Friday Group Picture
My BF was the girl in the light cardy over dress and long socks. I think her name might have been Shannon.
I have a freaky memory, and I could still tell you who was the bully, who still had 'toileting' accidents, and etc.
Which is pretty good considering we moved town a lot.
I think remembering was my way of holding on to some sense of reality.
If I could remember people, then they really did exist. And hanging onto the memory of old friends make it easier when I was sad and lonely and trying to make new ones ...
Issues, so many issues...
And I was 4yrs old.
