A lot's been going on academically and socially for me, especially socially.
And I've been getting overwhelmed a lot. I just made this to look back on some memories.
I think I'll make one for Flickr every month.
Wearing Stars and Bars retro paint job, A United A320 is on final at O'Hare on Saturday morning. The 737 with the Continental paint job was also in town from the previous day but I missed its departure on Saturday. Just for grins, I looked up this plane and found it too was coming to O'Hare.

Elmwood Park Zoo is celebrating one hundred years of conservation education (the purpose of a zoo) in Norristown, Pennsylvania. I grew up nearby, though not close enough to hear the lions roaring!
Scene from a flashback, a time and a place where you remember the definitive characteristics of a Pier on a cold early morning.
lost in the wilderness
of a romantic bus stop
a love life once idyllic
now flippity flop
holding the heart
of loneliness
pain revolving like a top
dreams washed away
on the rocks of carter road
memories non stop
the pesky hijda
the intruding eyes of the cop
life once full of fun
now a full stop
a woman's life aging
in a post marital
antique shop
the love of life
once a Sallu look alike
now a bank teller
white collared slop
a wife also
a domestic prop
from the corners
of the corridors
of despair
the neighbors
eavesdrop
what you sow
is not what you reap
a bad seed brings forth
a bad crop
tears that fall from
moistened eyes
like raindrops
to my great friend David Hazell
a poetic satire on married life...

This is exactly how she looked (sans glasses) when I met her seventeen years ago.
May 13: Happy Mothers' Day, Marga!
Her nick name is PINK, she was our last baby, our first girl. I don’t even like pink, but she LOVED it. I was nervous she had two older brothers; I thought she may be a tom boy, and she is but she also loves pink and jewels and sparkly things, and baby dolls, oh she loves her baby dolls even still. She always had a dirty face, she always had owies, she carried her big pink handmade blanket everywhere and sucked her fingers and she fell asleep in the strangest places. The years have gone really too fast.
This was taken last year when my daughter was taking riding lessons. I'm hoping to start them back up soon. I love how this pic looks so old and vintage.
Whenever we go for ice cream we get the pups a dish of vanilla. It is their favourite. Here Monty and Sam share a bowl. Abby is in the front having hers.
I purchased him & Nighty Nite Sasha, both new in box, locally from facebook marketplace for $5.00 each!

Flashback
By Dr. Jon Suter
The first issues of Marvel’s “Flashback” series are out, and some are surprisingly good. Each story takes place before the first issue of the original titles they are based on even though some of those titles are thirty or more years old.
There is wide variance in the quality of art and storytelling.
In “Amazing Spider-Man”, Tom DeFalco’s story and Joe Bennett’s art give a credible story of a young Peter Parker’s discovery of his Uncle Ben’s Golden Age comics. Young Peter dreams of becoming a Captain America type of hero. This segment is lighthearted and foreshadows Peter’s responsibility for his uncle’s death.
Far darker is the depiction of the rise of the villain, Kingpin.
Other nice touches include the hiring of reporter Joe Robertson by Pete’s future boss, editor J. Jonah Jameson, and, best of all, a brief appearance by the amnesiac Submariner.
The art is influenced by John Buscema. The cover is a tribute to artist Steve Ditko.
Also interesting are “X-Men” and “Uncanny X-Men”.
The first again explores the early friendship of the X-Men’s mentor, Professor Xavier, and villain, Magneto. A new element is the appearance of very youthful superheroes, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
The second delves into the origin of the Sentinels group and illustrates just how complicated time travelers have made this series.
“Cable” is not as good as the two above series, but is much better than “X-Factor”. Jeff Matsuda’s cartoonish depiction of the young superhero, Havoc, is irritating. Howard Mackie’s plot is easy to overlook because of the art.
I concede that Matsuda is showing events from a child’s perspective, but it doesn’t work.
The depiction of Stan Lee in the opening pages is beyond caricature.
Similar to “Flashbacks” is “The Unknown World of Captain Marvel”. This three0ussue series explains just how characters Mar-Vell, Yon-Rogg, and Medic Una came together just before their ill-fated expedition to Earth. The influence of artist Jack Kirby and popular SF films such as “2002”, “Star Wars” and “Aliens” is seen throughout.
