lost....

lost in thought and lost in time

while the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted

outside the rain fell dark and slow

while I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime

i took a heavenly ride through our silence

i knew the moment had arrived

for killing the past and coming back to life

i took a heavenly ride through our silence

i knew the waiting had begun

and headed straight..into the shining sun.

This is an old photo (the 1980s) from when I spent most of my time in the closet! I'd had a lust for lingerie ever since I can remember and spent many hours at home trying on different styles of dresses/blouses/skirts, etc. Many of you can relate, I'm sure. I got to the point where I wanted to be out and about and finally took the attitude that I didn't care what anyone else thought - I didn't pass in public then, and I still don't (into my 70s now) but I relish the freedom of getting dressed up and heading out and about.

there's the old bulkhead reinforced with scrap metal, old bicycle parts, and such

that revealed themselves over the years as the water and weather washed the concrete away

before the new bulkhead was built.

just look at all that junk washed up and gathered off the beach!

so. many. bedsprings.

still things wash up, but not so much.

people don't throw so much crap in the water anymore

and there is decidedly less beach glass since recycling has taken hold.

February 14, 2009 - Valentine's Day in Toronto - I had to go downtown to get my Spotmatic repaired, so I spent the afternoon walking around. I thought I didn't get too many shots that I liked, but after looking at them and processing them, they turned out ok. I uploaded a lot today.

Classic looking car.

Finally have her after tracking her down! I love her fashions, crimped hair and makeup! <3

About China Beach

This dramatic series set at an American base evacuation hospital during the Vietnam War debuting in 1988, with its iconic opening credits set to the Supremes' "Reflections" as its theme song, it was hailed as groundbreaking television. Created by William Broyles, Jr. and John Sacret Young, the series looks at the Vietnam War from a unique perspective: that of the women, military personnel and civilians, who were present during the conflict.
