Our youngest daughter was cleaning out some of her possessions that are still stored at our house and found this. It had been taken in 1974 and attached to my application for a required identity card issued by the Moroccan government. I taught there 1974-1975.

I had an hour before a math test and decided to play around in photoshop instead of studying last minute. I wanted to try an old photo look and it turned out more or less like I wanted.

Reminds me of a peacock I saw in 1967, but that's another story. This one was in our front yard today.
Whenever Maggie came across water deep enough she would stick her face under it and continue to walk forward. Her version of scuba diving I guess. This behaviour lasted her entire life.
A couple enjoying a canoe ride the year before Covid. Since then, any water activity at the lake is prohibited.

... to Anise's farm stay with friends in August. Notice how dry the grass was. The farm owner recently sent me these pictures. Wish I had been there to see them together!

I was reliably informed that this majestic, elegant and perhaps a bit up himself creature was a waterbuck. The late, low angle sun just made him glow.
These surprises really lit up the evening game drives. I hadn't known what to expect so with an open mind I was pleased to see and do something I'd not seen or done before. There was no check list to tick off and no expectations to fullfil. This was just for the joy of being in the bush.
When I was young the steam era was in it's final years. My grandparents lived across from the tracks,when a train went by I'd run to the door to watch it go by. I love old steam engines,they bring back many old memories of me looking out the front door, the ground trembling as they thundered by.
