Traffic was terrible on Friday, so I pulled out the trusty map book and found an alternate route: a neighborhood cut-through between Chamblee-Tucker and Pleasantdale.

I veered off of Chamblee-Tucker at an alarming speed (it's hard to keep pace with traffic while looking for a street you've never seen before!) and coasted up the hill and into the quiet neighborhood. As I took a turn and drove downhill again, I noticed that the houses were quite unlike a lot of the 50's ranch homes that populate much of Tucker. Lots of full-height windows extending into the apex of the roof line. Flat-roofed carports. Dark, dark natural wood tones and big orange double front doors. The works. I'm not certain, but it seems to me that these were homes of the 60's and 70's. The neighborhood's quiet, dark feel only added to the uniqueness of it. By the time I picked my camera up from the passenger seat, the homes were growing more typical, but I felt this one captured it decently. I'll have to go back for more at a later date.

These may be extremely normal to you, reading this, but as someone who has spent most of his life in 80's and 90's architecture, they're very unusual and foreign to me.

Made in a size 6T. Bit too small for my little lady so will have to size up and put this one away for her little sister!

Flashback to the 30th March 2013 when beautiful Comet L4 Pan-STARRS graced our skies. This image was taken on 30th March 2013 looking out over Lough Neagh. At that time the comet was about two degrees below The Andromeda Spiral (M31).

This is a picture I took while we (my Mom, me and my siblings) were at Six Flags. Basically just a shot to show I've been to Six Flags and stuff.

A year ago Monty underwent Cruciate ligament surgery on his back leg. He had totally severed his own ligament and had to have a synthetic one put in. It was probably the worst six months with a dog we have ever experienced. He could not walk for several weeks and had to be lifted up and down stairs and onto the bed. We also had to be concerned that he did not get depressed as he saw Abby and Sam go out every day without him. It took a full six months to get him back to the point he could go out with them. Thankfully the surgery was a complete success and he is back to his old self. Hopefully never again. I should also point out it cost a little over $3000.00 for anyone who finds themselves having to deal with this.

Dont let me hear you say lifes taking you nowhere, angel

Come get up my baby

Look at that sky, lifes begun

Nights are warm and the days are young

Come get up my baby

Theres my baby, lost thats all

Once Im begging you save her little soul

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Come get up my baby

Last night they loved you, opening doors and pulling some strings, angel

Come get up my baby

In walked luck and you looked in time

Never look back, walk tall, act fine

Come get up my baby

Ill stick with you baby for a thousand years

Nothings gonna touch you in these golden years, gold

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Come get up my baby

Some of these days, and it wont be long

Gonna drive back down where you once belonged

In the back of a dream car twenty foot long

Dont cry my sweet, dont break my heart

Doing all right, but you gotta get smart

Wish upon, wish upon, day upon day, I believe oh lord

I believe all the way

Come get up my baby

Run for the shadows, run for the shadows, run for the shadows in these golden years

Theres my baby, lost thats all

Once Im begging you save her little soul

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Come get up my baby

Dont let me hear you say lifes taking you nowhere, angel

Come get up my baby

Run for the shadows, run for the shadows

Run for the shadows in these golden years

Ill stick with you baby for a thousand years

Nothings gonna touch you in these golden years, gold

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop

Golden years, gold whop whop whop
