Started a new photo course (yay) and first assignment to use fill in flash to capture detail in a shadowed area. Above using the flash, below NO flash, No detail.

The flooded car park at my work. This was taken about 3 hours after the torrential rain stopped and just about everyone had swam to their cars to move them!

All the lighting for these shots was provided entirely by an on camera flash, no ambient lighting was used at all.

The debris hanging off the tree indicates high levels of flash flooding.
