After three days walking past the community chalkboard with all the Flash Player fandom, I couldn't resist drawing a small comic-book Flash logo.

The Ektalux Flasholder was introduced in 1951 . There were 3 versions : one with a standard bracket (for attaching it to the tripod socket present on many roll-film cameras) , one with a bracket for Polaroid cameras , and one with a bracket for press-type cameras . Each version came in its own box with accessories , including a flashguard .

From the ad : ' The Kodak Ektalux Flasholder fits most press-type and roll-film cameras . (....) . The Ektalux gives you many exclusive features : quick loading and ejecting for both midget and medium-base lamps . . . two-way focus of midget lamps for uniform or concentrated light . . . convenient exposure guide . . . comfortable pistol grip . You can trip camera shutter from the Flasholder - or convert non-flash shutters . The Ektalux ( with magnesium die-cast body) is durable but light ; easy to pack ( reflector removable ).'

An extension unit was obtainable and according to the ad the primary flasholder could take up to 6 units . (For pictures of the extension unit and of the type with press bracket : see my album "Ektalux flasholders" )

All plugged in and powered up!

You can't quite make out the ready light unfortunately but you should be able to see the LCD screen.

Cash Flash

2004 S Sycamore Street, Petersburg, VA

This location opened in the mid 2010s; it was originally a High's Ice Cream, which opened in January 1962. It became a Little Caesars in either the late 1980s or sometime in the 1990s, which relocated here in 2012.

This is a Ruger Redhawk chambered in .44 Magnum. The Muzzle flash was so big that you can't see the gun! Not photoshopped.

The building blocks for my flash power mod:

One battery charger adapter cable and a random plastic part thats main shaft just happened to be the same size as an AA battery!

The charger has a 3.5mm mono plug for some reason and this adapter allows it to connect directly to the battery terminals which are the spade lug style. I had hoped to use the charger as a direct power source but for some reason it took more than 10sec's to recharge the flash (I turned it off after that time thinking something wasn't right, although it had charged it initially and fired ok).
