Used camera flash with ND4 filter, just for fun !!
You can see I caught the grass with the flash, as I shot this a little too close.
Used my Sigma 10-20mm

Superheroes and Frisbee Golf; the Flash: Photo 5
To the Flash's joy, the Frisbee hit the hole dead-on, it was going to be a hole-in-one! But just as he began to jump for joy, he realized the consequences of his super-speedy (and fiery)throw: the Frisbee was going too fast and too hot, and instead of being caught with that perfect "ching" of the chains, it cut straight through, severing the hole in half and leaving his smoking Frisbee in the grass. "Maybe," the Flash thought to himself, "I should just stick to cross country."

The alligator clips were cut off the ends of the leads and soldered onto the cut-off ends of a couple of bit zinc wood screws (only thing that was around and long enough). Checked with a multi-meter for good connection. Then also added some heat-shrink for extra strength (not shown here).
Note: due to little plastic protectors on the positive terminals inside the flash I had to put a blob of solder on the end of the "positive" screw to allow it to make contact (same as the knob on the + end of a battery).
Two Maha Powerex AA's shown for size comparison.
Extra Strobist: Shot in my cheapo Strobist macro studio with an SB800 firing through the top/right @ 1/8 -2/3 power.

360 joules is the standard energy level for cardiac resusitation. Trained operators can up the energy level from the defribulator on subsequent attempts. This was an attemp too far! ...Just too many joules.
Met up with my old high school chum Chad whom I'd not seen in decades. His band was in town playing "The Flash" and the band's name is "Blue Bizness". I'm allowed extraordinary photography privileges at The Flash so I took advantage of them.
All taken with either the Fuji X-E1 or X-M1 and the lenses were the Fujinon XF 14mm f/2.8, XF 35mm f/1.4, and XF 55-300mm f/3.5-4.6
The 55-200mm is slow and fussy on the X-E1 in this light -- which was not too bright LED stage lighting -- so they're not perfect, but they're fun so here they are. I got more but these are the best of them overall I think.

Update: h2testw reveals that the flash drive is fake. After 6.9 GB of testing, the device disappears due to an error. On Linux, that error is multiple lines of something like "device descriptor read/64, error -110"

Day 332 Played with the Strobe Flash on the 580EX today, with my whirling Sleeping Beauty dancers. Spent over 1 hour trying to get exposure & dancers position correct. Finally had to give in due aching back! Not satisfied with the results but will try the technique on other things now.

Chocolate cupcakes with marshmallow-creme filling, decorated with the Flash logo. Made on an informal dare after the discovery of Hostess "Flash Cakes," which are simply frosted in red with yellow sprinkles. I will not, however, be making a real-food version of the Green-Lantern-themed "Glo Balls."
Moving the flash almost directly above the subject really changes (in my mind improves) the shadows. Still a lot of light on the background, though.
