It was snowing, so I went out to check the snow to see if it was worth photographing. The flakes were tiny averaging about 1 to 2 mm, with a lot of snow debris.
Would see plate snow flakes, but they were extremely difficult to find in the macro lens. I saw this tiny flake, barely 2mm diameter.
I was fascinated with the 3 dimesional structure of this snow flake. It seem to take on a plastic appearance, and getting the light to be at the right angle was crucial to actually seeing the detail. Using my LED ring light gaffer taped to the front of the lens taken at night.

Today the snow on my car was actually still in perfect little snow flakes.. so I tried to take some picture to share with all the people who don't get snow. My car is dirty.. and this isn't the best shot ever.. but... here it is. Snow flakes on the edge of my window!

So I think I finally came up with a name for this guy. Æther. It's the name of the greek god of the upper air and light, as a supposed fifth element in classical alchemy. Also Ash (Æ) is one of my favorite letters!
This was such a rushed photo. I had forgot to charge my battery so I had to get everything before the 3% that was left on my battery ran out. But I guess I would have had to rush anyway to makesure I didn't lose the light.
