The closing Carson's store at Five Points Mall in Marion, Indiana
The North Park Mall in Marion, Indiana opened in 1978. It was rebranded to Five Points Mall in 2009. The mall currently appears to be dying; only one out of four anchor slots will be occupied by summer 2018. Many smaller stores are vacant as well. On the positive side, Planet Fitness is new place in the mall that opened in January 2018 and could be a sign the owners want to convert the mall into a strip shopping center. The outlots also appear to be doing well except for a closed restaurant.
Here are the four anchor store spots
1) JCPenney (open 1978 to 2014) - Currently Vacant
2) Hills (1978 to 1998), Ames (1998 to 2001 or 2002), Steve & Barry's (2004 to 2008), Roses (2011 to current)
3) Sears (1990 to 2013) - Currently Vacant
4) Meis (1978 to 1989), Elder-Beerman (1989 to 2011), Carson's (2011 to April 2018)

The Macy's store liquidation.
The Northland Center was opened in March 1954 and will close in April 2015. The shopping center was designed by Victor Gruen and developed by the J.L.Hudson Company. Northland Center was the largest shopping center in America when it opened and had the largest department store branch in the world. In 1974, the shopping center was enclosed plus JCPenney, and Montgomery Ward were added as anchors. MainStreet / Kohl's and Target were later anchor stores as well. Kohl's closed 1994, Montgomery Ward closed 1998, JCPenney closed 1999, Target closed 2015 (February 1st), and Macy's closed 2015 (March 22nd).

(cont.) In the previous image you might could see a handful of mannequins, but in case you had any doubt, this pic seals the deal! Yes indeed, the Horn Lake Target was lucky enough to receive all the fancy modern fixtures that had graced the Cordova Super Target’s apparel departments. This includes mannequins, tables, and other displays, such as the tall, skinny clothes racks seen in this view (joined by a strictly display piece in-between the two, advertising the Universal Thread brand).
Also in this scene, a piece of yellow neon (look just left of the rightmost tall Universal Thread display rack) that burned out at some point and was replaced with an entirely new strand of yellow neon, which is noticeable because the yellow isn’t a 100% match. To me, this is a good sign (knock on wood!), and with any luck, the new section there is LED instead of energy-inefficient neon, and births the idea that the entire store could switch to LED and thus remain unremodeled forever XD

You can see three different styles of cash registers in this photo. The center one is the one that came in the original sets with the two left checkouts. I have more like this, but of course they're hot pink. I will paint them all this color because it's accurate for the time period.

4480 Indian Ripple Rd, Dayton, OH. This store opened on November 17, 1977, and is the next-to-the-last Kmart in the Dayton area. The store's closure was formally announced on April 6, 2017, with liquidation starting April 27th. The store will close for good in July.
