It’s been a rather warm winter here, so not a lot of snow photos to post. This was taken on a few weeks ago when there was just a bit of snow.

HFF!

Nothing which can't be fixed with a fresh coat of paint or two

There is always restoration hope.

** I especially like the missing side mirror, no headlights, one windshield wiper blade and the rock fractures in the windshield (bullet holes?!) lol

This old house just needs a good scrape and a coat of paint. I think even Earl and Daryl might be able to handle this ... at least the scraping part. HWW!

This old abandoned ranch house did have some conveniences in its day. The water pump on the left and near the back still has a nice coat of paint on it, and so does the ringer washer on the front porch. The papasan chairs hanging on the front wall would make for a comfy place to sit on the porch on a long hot summer evening. I'm not sure about the picture with the three cowboys in it, though, maybe it's a family portrait.

I think Earl and Daryl may be working on this house. They are obviously having trouble deciding what to do about the siding. If you look on the porch you will see wooden siding, plywood and some kind of newer siding on the right side. The bay window still has the water shield paper over the plywood. The whole house needs scraped and painted and the gutters need work.

I would have said this house looks abandoned, especially the upper floor. However, it has Christmas decorations up, so I think it is occupied. HWW!

Spotted this old house along the side of the road last weekend. It may be past the fixer-upper stage but just imagine the stories that must live in those walls.

A house in need of a little (or rather a lot of) TLC in Tofino, BC. Happy Window Wednesdays!

May have to make this one into a jigsaw puzzle ;-)

If you have been to North Dakota before, you have seen these old houses all over the place. If only these houses could talk...

Along the same walk in the East End as the shot "Kennedy Killed the Hat", I found this well loved grocery store, which has held up against the years.

On the outskirts of Havre, Montana are these two old, rotting cars that look like they have been parked there for many years. I finally had the courage to photograph them.

There are a lot of old, rusting cars like this scattered all over Montana. I do like photographing them. These in particular had a spirit about them.

22769 The Little Barn Rare. What a beautiful build. And the rest of the set as well, from the pumpkin centerpiece to the rusted boxwood planters. There's one of the Jian piglets and some Kite Sweater Weather baby goats. See it in world, maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lionheart%20Kovu/213/79/28

Assorted parts available, but no guarantees that they'll fit....or work.Being that these are parked next to the Psycho Silo Saloon, there's plenty of liquid encouragement nearby while you make your decisions...

Tracts of desert land are sold cheaply in 5- or 10-acre allotments. People dreaming of creating a life far from the modern world tend to build cheap/quick boxes on them - a tiny square on a larger square in a desolate landscape, just the way they dreamed it. But desert life is hard, and it seldom works out. Driving through Twentynine Palms and Wonder Valley, I spotted more abandoned homesteader shacks than occupied ones, and pulled over to record the ones I could (almost getting stuck in the sand at one point - thanks for your torque, reverse gear).

House prices would be rather high in this end of town so perhaps this original cottage would set you back a at least 1 million and perhaps 2 million or so dollars.!

The barber's pole is there ready if a barber buys it but I think the shingles definely need replacing.

"Go and find what it is that inspires you, go and find what it is that you love and go do that until it hurts. Don’t quit, and don’t give up. The reward is just around the corner. And in times of doubt or times of joy, listen for that still, small voice. Know that God has been there from the beginning—and he will be there until the end."

On top of Wydeford Hill stands this wee fixer-upper with a view to take your breath away.

Every time we drive up this highway I expect to find that this building has finally collapsed but it's still standing.

A trip to Waco, Texas means a visit to the Magnolia Farms. An awesome family friendly place, with food trucks, shopping, flower garden, and a huge open space for the kids to play ball.
