Five Below #8171 (11,466 square feet)
5900 East Virginia Beach Boulevard, Suite 170, JANAF Shopping Yard, Norfolk, VA
Opened March 22nd, 2024; previously part of Conway, later Fallas Discount Stores (mid 2010s-November 2018), All Star Sports (2021-2023)
Five Below made its' Norfolk debut back in March in the JANAF Shopping Yard, and I'd imagine this'll be the only location in the city they'll establish unless a space opens up in Southern Shopping Center. The layout places the checkouts/candy/toys side to the left and seasonal/beauty/t-shirts/style to the right, with the Five Beyond section and restrooms towards the back. The space has spent most of its' existence with a drop ceiling and tiled floor, but for Five Below's buildout they gutted both, unearthing the warehouse ceiling with fireproof insulation wrapped around the beams and the original polished terrazzo flooring, which were the most interesting parts to see in this space that dates back to 1959 (I'm just not sure who the space's original occupant was).
