I've tried to find anything about the parakeet in books around my room, or even on Google Books, but haven't been very lucky...

And there's nothing much really on the MFA's official page, either. :(

Five Million Flowers is an installation art show, featuring LED backlit honeycomb in bee hive frames. Each front is adorned with a translucent image of a woman from around the world, all sisters to the Queen. The Queen Bee, Hymenoptera, invited you to see deep into the blue spectrum. Those wanting to light candles to the Queen, for their own desires or to honor the bees, leave treasures for her in her beehive basket.

I recently found out my Gramma has been asking where her diary is...after seeing this shot, my dad finally knew where to look.

This image was presented in diptych format with this one.

Shot for my advanced lighting final, the idea behind which was to document my grandparents' hastily deserted family home of 30+ years. They were forced to move into a nursing home because of sudden health issues...as a result, their log cabin has been left behind exactly as if they were still living there. Unfortunately, odds are slim that they will ever be able to return. The house will be either gutted, or torn down entirely.

There was a bird's nest in a very visible place at my parents' summer house. Sadly, a couple of days after this photo was taken, the little birds weren't moving anymore. We still don't know what happened.

Day 261/365

05 February 2012

Some 300 or so years ago a Buddhist monk came to this remote valley and carved the images of 500 Buddhist Saints into the rocks. Now visitors hike through the valley looking for them, peeling moss off the rocks and peering everywhere. They vary in size from a few inches high to a few feet. There can also be several images on one rock! It's quite a challenging search. We may have seen as many as a hundred in the 30 or 40 minutes we were there.

So this is my diary. Where, basically I pour myself out. I used to write when i was little but then lost it. Gained back the interest again on new year's this year, y'know, new start and all that. This diary has been through everything I have. I must've spent hours locked in a bathroom scribbling my heart out on the pages, or maybe even under my sheets with a flashlight. when my parents think I'm sleeping. Yes, I do blog but my blogs aren't considered as a "diary".. just a few weekly thoughts that I want to share with the world. My diary, on the other hand, you never know what you might find there.
