Fitzroy mountain reflecting into a small pool around 30 minutes after moon rise had started to illuminate the mountain and the surrounding landscape.
The Fitzroy Mountain Range at sunrise taken from a large forest area below the mountain range. This forest was home for 5 days camping in the forest otherwise it would mean a hard 10km hike every day from town to this place.

It took me more than 4 years to finally capture a scene I could only dream of. A magnificent Condor glides above the distant peaks of Argentina's Mount Fitz Roy massif, as they are spot lit in beautiful, warm early morning light.

I have better photos from my D800 I'm still getting to but the iPhone5S did a pretty good job on this one.
Another shot of the amazing Smug piece in Fitzroy, this one taken from a little way down the street to include some of the houses as well as the artwork. I tried to line up the eye with the gap in the tree but could not get my tripod to go up that extra inch or two needed.
Looking toward Fitzroy Mountain range at sunrise just as the tips of the mountain start to turn orange.
Just before sunrise looking towards the Fitzroy mountain range, the high cloud above the mountains was reflecting a nice pink red glow down onto the range just before it started to turn orange as the sun came up.
Taking photographs in Patagonia is hard…really hard. Not only is the weather really inconsistent and the wind relentless but there are other challenges that are not immediately apparent. One of those difficulties that presented a big challenge to me was trying to give these images a sense of scale. I mean these peaks are MASSIVE. The feeling of awe that I had when I first saw Monte Fitzroy is something very hard to convey in a photograph. I am not sure it is possible to get that feeling without actually being there. This here is my best attempt (and it would work better with a large print). Its hard to see on this small resolution file, but my friend Chris is standing in the bottom right corner. His small figure gives you an idea of how big that rock is! I hope the viewer can get even a fraction of the feeling I felt when I made this image. —

The amazing Monte Fitzroy near El Chalten, Argentina. This is my favorite mountain in the world and I consider myself very lucky to have seen it in person. I waited five days for this shot, but when the light finally came, it was all I could have hoped for!
