*Morgendämmerung über den Feldern am Rande der Stadt*

An old shot taken early in the morning, this is my favorite for a peaceful meadow.

Wispy cloud on the horizon catching the first light of dawn on the seafront at Port Fairy on Victoria's south coast.

Port Fairy lighthouse is on the right and the distant lights on the horizon would be from Warrnambool.

Happy Nice Wonderful Clouds Tuesday!

The object just to the left of the rising sun is a disc plow.

Welcome 2022!

Happy New Year!

A cloudy morning at Moraine Lake. Patience finally paid off with a break in the low clouds allowing a couple of the "ten peaks" to come forth crowning this misty morn.

Sincere THANKS for your support and friendship over the years. Makes my day. Looking forward to enjoying and admiring your beautiful images and sharing our experiences in the new year.

Warm wishes to you and your families for a healthy, happy and wonderful 2022!

It was 35F (1.7C) and super windy out, I was so hoping for a nothing special sky🙏, one just like almost every day's in the past few weeks.

I'm so glad I did go outside after much debating!

Here's the finale, and I hope you like it!

Thank you for your visit! I may not always reply to your kind comments, but please know that I appreciate and enjoy reading them.

Aerial sunrise at the beach with colourful high cloud at Umina Point, Umina Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

A picture paints a thousand words....Beautiful sunrise looking up Ullswater from Glencoyne Bay.

Some early light catching the crests and slopes along the Derwent Valley between Bamford and Hathersage on Saturday morning, shortly after sunrise. This is a slightly imperfect stitch of two separate images; the field in shade in the lower, middle part of the image appears to have a couple of faint, vertical borders between slightly different tones picked up in the separate exposures. But I was pleased enough with the overall image to ignore this.

It was a wonderfully chilly morning, all alone, in the stillness......

Last picture of this small series. The sun slowly descends from the sea of fog towards us and the fields begin to shine. The huge wall of fog in the background shows that the lowlands will remain gray for a long time.

Usually these kind of photos make it straight into my bucket - but somehow I like this one. Maybe someone else likes it too.

sometimes you just have to zoom in...the wide shot from Tunnel View is always amazing, but take time and notice the face of this girl. She is beautiful!

Jet lag in João Pessoa, Brasil! After a sleepless night I decided to walk along the beach to enjoy the first light and the beautiful mood

Wishing you all the best in 2017! As the sun rises, I can't help hoping that this New Year will be better than 2016!

The Snowy Range Mountains at daybreak. Located in southeast Wyoming, the Snowy Range is a true gem of Wyoming. Shaped by a rich glacial history, the high alpine scenery of this range is stunning and boasts over 100 pristine lakes amidst a backdrop of looming granite peaks.

Another image from a glorious morning wandering around the shore of Llynnau Mymbyr in Snowdonia.

I know I've let the foreground leak over the line of the background but rules are there to be broken right?

A bright new day begins at Stanley Lake with Mt. McGown catching nice rays high and low. Nature provides the best views and entertainment. Wins my Oscar.

Thanks for your visit. Always appreciated!

Enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

Noosa Heads / Sunshine Coast / Queensland / Australia.

Another dawn visit to New Brighton to walk the dog, so whilst she's off smelling things I think I'd rather not smell I get a quiet 10 mins to take some shots.

The day's first warm light, enhanced by wildfire smoke, on Mt. Adams 50 miles away as seen from Dege Peak. A few of the peaks of the Governor's Ridge in between caught the glow nicely as well. The hike in the dark was sure worth it this morning to reach this spot before the dawn's beauty slipped away.

"Mount Adams, known by some Native American tribes as Pahto or Klickitat, is a potentially active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range. Although Adams has not erupted in more than 1,000 years, it is not considered extinct. It is the second-highest mountain in Washington, after Mount Rainier.

Adams, named for President John Adams, is a member of the Cascade Volcanic Arc, and is one of the arc's largest volcanoes, located in a remote wilderness approximately 34 miles (55 km) east of Mount St. Helens." Wikipedia

Hope to get to know this iconic peak more....

Happy Friday! Enjoy a wonderful day and weekend!

The early morning sun catches the slopes of Cat Bells. Taken from below Friar's Crag when the water levels were very low after the unseasonably dry April. May more than made up for it though!

First light in the Val d'Orcia.

A little morning mist lies over the valley.

Here and there a dog barks or a pheasant tap makes itself felt. Otherwise there is silence over the landscape and I look forward to the resulting pictures ...

Very similar conditions to the last time I was here. The water level was slightly higher which allowed me to include more of the foreground rocks.

Fast becoming a favourite for the peace and tranquilty compared to the other more popular locations on Derwentwater.

The view from Latrigg.

Each day is a new creation.

Dawn is the most exhilarating time to be taking photographs. Perhaps it's just perception, but everything happens so quickly. Much more so it seems than with sunsets which seem to linger in the summer sky.

This photograph almost didn't happen. The night before at the little historic town of Swansea on Tasmania's east coast it was a literal white out. A marine layer had rolled in during the afternoon with a cloud cover down to several hundred metres. Sunset was out. So I set the alarm to be up as early as possible and first indications were not good.

A little time after I took the blue shot there appeared a little break in the cloud cover. In an instant the light broke through in one majestic burst (the sun was still below the horizon). If you look closely you'll see Venus peering through at us as well. The lights of Coles Bay and the outline of the Freycinet Peninsula can also be seen. And just as quickly it seemed to disappear as the hole in the clouds closed again.

Perhaps the creation of the earth looked something like this. Strangely, the music I would set to this creation scene is Mozart's "Requiem in D" (K626). I love the music, but there is also something uniquely linked in the concepts of death and rebirth. One day dies only to be born anew at the dawn of New Light.

Couldn't have asked for better conditions all morning.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. 💕

First light hits the peaks of the Sawtooth's Mt. McGown rising above Stanley Lake. Morning magic.

Thanks for taking a peak peek. Much appreciated.
